Psidon GTs are great for races that rely on short range/melee, but don't have huge armor numbers.
They are fairly useless for dwarves, and less useful for humans. Elves it can help save a lot of mages, Orcs its good cause SW is weak to LR only. Gnomes less so because of the interaction with FF, but they can help for sure. Undead its useful as well to have legion make it past the LR phase and soak damage elsewhere.
Basically, they are a specific tool, but to make them any more powerful would make them a mandatory building. My group used them to great effect for bouncing retals, which is where they really shine. Just gotta have the balls to send less than 75% on an attack.
