Hey all suggestion to do with as you please, in the early stages population is a problem, we all understand this… we did a quick fix this phase to allow for some simpler testing.
I propose however that we take another look at how pop grows and make perminant changes to this base and very important feature.
My suggestion is to provide a type of logarithmic scale to pop grow, whatever this looks like, I’m ok with the 25% of missing pop in the first tick and scaling to full after some amount of time, whether that’s 6, 8, 10, or 12 hours… later in the game when we have 10’s of thousands hanging around just f*cking cause there’s nothing else to do this makes sense, however when we first start, tick one with this formula we have 1900 max pop and 1000 total pop providing 225 babies in the first tick. My new formula would basically put a cap on pop grow to some amount, say 10% of current population such that growth is a bit flatter in the early game. I believe this is how it was in the original, I don’t recall gaining 200+ pop in the first tick.
If not everyone agrees, it could be put to a vote, if we like faster starting as a whole. I’m ok with either.
