Lord Thane So if you did that test, and you saw you had 40 casualties before, and 20 casualties after, then you'd know it worked. If you had 40 casualties before, and 38 casualties after, then you'd know it did not work

For the sake of argument do you mean to say true silver is +10defence? Or were the numbers purely arbitrary, And it should have been 40 before and 30 after… as this would imply the correct increase (5) in the SB defence?

Xliest I'm just saying for the sake of a player trying to test the tech blindly - that's the kind of thing they'd have to do.

For me I'll just run a quick before/after attack and look at the detailed logs to see what happened, cross reference that with the actual code driving the tech to make sure it makes sense and matches.

It's unrealistic for players to be able to see what many of the techs are doing.

But some techs are easily possible, like you can check your mines running at 100 optimal the tick before you get the tech, then after the tick you can change your pop to 85 and check your detailed data = it should still produce same iron. That would confirm that tech is working.

IDK if people are doing those kind of tests, but I hope so.

I certainly have been habitation and commerce confirmed to work as intended, as were the weapon techs last time and barracks.

    Lord Thane
I understand this 100%. Wasnt implying i wanted to test, im aware this is only possible on the simulator that you guys have. I can never recreate the scenarios.

What i meant was, we have no idea what the buff from the tech is, so we are actually unaware of even suspect something. I mean, i have rough estimate of much shieldbearers i lose against gnomes, do see lower percentage of losses after the tech? Ok, i feel its working even not knowing the values.

But im not worried about this it would just be cool to know.

    This:
This new technology allows your trainers to include clerical magic in the knight formation allowing them to heal your wounded units in combat and to reduce your combat losses. The damages dealt to your units will be reduced by 0.5% per percent of paladins in your army, but never by more than 25%. For example, an army of 100 paladins and 300 other units would have it’s damages reduced by 12.5%.

    or this:
This technology will provide your shadow warriors equipment suited to hide in different areas more effectively, decreasing the chances of being found by 15%.

or Elves Shadow Hall is alot more info than this:
Researching new materials for shield creating has been found to help in many great armies. It is believed that many dwarven leaders found a new metal called True Silver that is one of the most resistant material ever found. With this metal, they were able to create thougher shields for their shieldbearers.

Jaxx I do see what you mean, thane could very quickly look it up and tell us but he hasn’t so maybe there’s something there that they don’t want it to obvious.

Even though the knights description is very explicit it could just say knights now heal units on the battlefield. Which honestly maybe it should just say that…

Jaxx yeah I think the old devs intended for it to remain mysterious, that's how a lot of things are in the guide. Xliest is right though, it increases the defense +5 🙂

Ok, things are starting to make sense now.

Lord Thane well, you can use my dwarf homeland L6. I have the true silver tech, if that'll help get things figured out.
