Currently the percentage of gate losses are capped at 25% and it is rolled for each unit type. So, each gate have 6 rolls due to 6 unit type. From the Gate results i've seen it is almost always guaranteed to lose 25% of at least 1 unit type. We are hitting the max. cap pretty often almost everytime.
I suggest a wider loss percentage but with lower probability. That is better for gaming. Also maybe it is better to roll the dice once and distribute on the troops
Curve:
50% probability -> 0% loss
10% probability -> %20 loss
%0 probability -> %50 loss
This curve means:
50% of the time you will not lose any troops. 40% of the time you will lose some troops up to 20% by a deminishing probability(meaning hitting 20% is much less likely then hitting 1%). 10% of the time there is risk to lose to 20%-50% by a deminishing probability.
For example;
Using 100 wizzards for 1000 troops out
If Away army total <= Used wizards x 3 then "troops count to be gated = used wizards * 3" else "troops count to be gated=away army total"
Troops count to be gated = 300
Roll random for lost troops percentage according to above curve -> Result: %5
300 * 0,05 = 15 troops will be lost
Roll for Unit 1: Roll=0.2 ... Unit 1 lost 15 * 0.2 = 3 ... 15-3 = 12 units to be lost remaining
Roll for Unit 2: Roll=0.5 ... Unit 2 lost 12 * 0.5 = 6 ... 12-6 = 6 units to be lost remaining
..
..
Roll for Unit 5: Roll=0.5 ... Unit 5 lost 2 * 0.5 =1 ... 1 unit to be lost remaining
Unit 6 lost = remaining number
