You’re talking about what 18% of the total kingdoms. 16 out of 89. Maybe they have a few on the side. Let’s say 7. That’s 23. 25%

They are active and coordinated, and some of them are skilled at the game and support each other. They want to play that way, and it’s a strategic approach to winning.

How do you intend to combat this? Do we genuinely want to transform this game into a single-player, everyone-versus-everyone scenario, devoid of alliances or friendships? Imagine fighting alone against a constant barrage of threats, never knowing where the next blow will come from. This is a slow-paced game, and some players do make leaps. You can trust that at least my mindset is that I and the other seven guys in my province are determined to win. Our objective is to secure the highest positions in the KHoF and strive to reach the top spot in the PHoF. We will employ any tactics that enhance our chances of achieving this goal. They simply have fifteen more players who are doing the same. Of course, this makes my goal more challenging, but I will still strive to achieve it. Personally, I don’t believe the game should be easier for a solo player.

My issue with the large alliance thing is its always the same. Every round. Same people on the same team doing the same antics.
89 Kingdoms will drop to 80, then 75, then 60. It will just be a 1v1 with Pinos and the vets who remain. No new threats from the outside because you will not bring any new players into the fold, nor will someone want to play solo/small group to just be fed off of as soon as they are in range. If the larger kingdoms are constantly trying to keep each other down, these little one off guys can at least thrive to the point where they are having somewhat of a good time, if they want to be competitive, sure, thats on them to message a top guy and ask to join next round, but I have been with the Pinos and they are not fun to be with as they take care of their own first and limit your targets with all of their 'friends'.

I want them to start playing like the rest of us. Fight whos at the top or who is actively hitting you. Not just join up because of nationality. They are skilled but they are too loyal to each other and the player base isnt big enough to support this.
The lithar provinces kind of threw a curveball to the playstyle of the game by allowing different races to play together and profit off of all of the abilities. Like Warcraft if you could have a Mage in Plate Armor. So this removes the need to another race to help take another down.

By leaving the Pinos alone and attacking smaller provinces, even though you are way above them.... Your province just hit mine this morning, if we retaliate you will focus on the 4 of us. I would love to have 8 and am actively trying to recruit all small humans to join, but again, the playerbase is not large enough as 25% are already allied.

I understand this, but stooping to their level makes this game even less enjoyable knowing there are two groups out doing this. I am cool with the 7 of you doing this, as this is the 'alliance' you should be loyal to, but when some of the best people playing are in that province, the other vets are 'handicapped due to shitty tactics' and the rest are skattered and nothing more then food for the top, it is really not going to attract new players or keep people engaged.

Again I respect your opinion and your skill in this game more then most, but I do not agree with the tactics going on....

AdinTheDark how do you guys not see that your way of playing the game ruins it for other people? What's the point in you guys doing what you are doing if there's no one else but 2 big groups left playing? Do you want this game to die again? And also your comment about solo players is hilarious, you and people like you are a cancer to this game. Honestly the best thing for the future of this game would be to ban all of you

People don't have the max tech, that's when CLI is actually "active". Once that happens the dynamics of the game will hopefully change and take out some of the power in numbers. In that case I am hoping that being in a huge alliance is actually a bad thing because it will reduce the number of targets available to attack, while the rest of us will have many more to hit and gain protection against. Time will tell I suppose.....

Maybe Thane should just give all the alliance players 20-30k KS so they are out of range of everyone else. I kinda like the idea because no one will be in their range and they will be forced to leave their safe space and attack other big groups. I think it's a win-win. The cowards that are obsessed with their khof rank can get some sick screenshots of their rank to put on their fridge and the rest of us can play the game without a swarm of losers trying to ruin the round for us

You are too self centered to understand that the game dies if you don't attract new players. Individual kingdoms should have the ability to succeed without the answer being just join the big alliance. If the game becomes medieval Facebook where the only thing that matters is collecting friends, why would anyone want to invest time learning and stick it out for more than a round?

There actually are ways to completely prevent these alliances and this style of game play, but it fundamentally changes Thardferr.

The big issue is that we've all played the game so long that it has naturally evolved into necessarily forming these larger alliances to be at the top of the KHoF. This happens every round, and eventually two super alliances form, the pinos and the others.

You can't force players to not be in alliances, and as it's been mentioned by Adin and others, that's also a fundamental part of the game. Yes that is also what shuts out new players, and ultimately kills the growth of the game.

Possible solutions are:

Provinces of similar sizes are locked in to only war against one another for a week at a time, then afterwards the provinces rotate. If you can't fight a province outside of the war that you've been locked in against, it forces conflict and entirely removes alliances and pre/retals. Give an incentive at the end of each week like for every successful attack you made you get X amount of bonus land, and for every 45 land that you won you get an extra castle.
Groups of individual players are locked in to weekly battles. Think like a 20 player free for all randomly selected. This forces your pool to remain small and you have to hit those players. At the end of the week, the players shuffle to fight against the new pools.
Provinces are made smaller, 4 players per province. Every week 4 of those provinces get locked in to battle one another. Same process

There can even be a 1 week period in between locked in battle where any can hit anyone again. But the point is that it would force fighting and break alliances.

What makes you think making the game easier is going to make it better? What will be your issue after we make the whole game just 1v1s. Why have provinces and kingdom messages or forums for that matter?
Here’s a great idea! We can just make each person have their own server vs a bunch of bots. Get rid of all the social aspect of the game seems to be the only way you can have any fun.

There's plenty of advantages to large alliances outside of combat. Funneling resources, a never ending wave of True Sights so you always know who has armies home, having dedicated casters to have full uptime on all of the beneficial spells. In addition to that you think it makes sense to have the combat built around strength in numbers too? It's not make the game easier for everyone else, it's making it more difficult for the large groups to completely dominate the game 100% of the time.

Again - I'm coming from the angle of attracting new players. Medieval Facebook is not the type of game that people are going to want to play. CLI was a step in the right direction at least.

AdinTheDark Im sorry man, I'd like to kiss and make up. Since the answer to all our problems is not being in a big group I'd like to officially submit an application to the swarm. Now I know what you are thinking but just hear me out, I think it's a perfect fit, I'll break it down

Me and my group love big pussies and your group seems to be full of them
We will gladly sacrifice our round for the greater good of the swarm so you can realize your life's goal and get that #1 spot in a 25 year old text based game
We will promise to keep an eye out for any player silly enough to not be part of a group and crush them until they quit
As an elf I will cast TS's for Halboy so he doesn't have to constantly switch to his multies, will be a big time saver for him and a big QoL improvement for the swarm
Me and my group have never been part of a big alliance so it would be a way for you hardened veterans to show us the ropes and the strategy behind winning 20 V 6 fights

There may be some other points I'm missing but I think we would be a good fit. Let us know what the swarm decides
