I'm unbanned. What shenanigans shall pursue on this thread?
Soooo...
saadht yes I commuted your sentence -2 days
@Lord Thane You think I forgive you because of that?
saadht lol, no, but I am interested to see what you think of new rules that have been added in your absence.
Ok, so I guess the trolling will have to wait - BUT IT WILL RETURN.
My thoughts are that it's a step in the right direction but still has some problems.
If you remember the OG game, when you oversent and only got land, it wasn't the same amount of land without the castle that you would have gotten with the castle. It was random 6-15 land. A castle just represents some resources. The gentleman (or lady) that got only land already got punished by luck, he shouldn't be further punished by design.
The CLI > 70% is definitely a step in the right direction. No need for CLI on bottom feeds.
The castle chance based on # of castles is also a step in the right direction only need to adjust how much land goes.
Now, feel free to ignore my suggestions like you have done countless others
saadht lol, you know very well that we've added several of your ideas, and your opinion certainly has influenced many others.
I think there is some merit to the idea of modifying how much land is gained, at least for the first few castles. But I want to see how things go for a few days to see what actually happens. I don't want to blindly go overboard and end up turning the first 5 castles into a big farmville because nobody wants to risk their armies for 10 land - much easier to just toss your pop into explore for 3 hours and keep your armies.
Glad you're taking the new rules in a positive outlook. These ideas are just what I was hoping would get figured out as we fine tune to achieve a "balance" where everyone can have fun. Hopefully not too many more major changes are needed so we don't disrupt people's strategies this round

Well you can wait if you'd like to see what happens, but in my opinion, if the risk of only getting 22 land or so has not deterred people from hitting (chats have been full of BRs only getting land), I don't think a little less land will deter them because it's still chance based. Did oversending deter people in the OG game? No, they just relied more on TS and calculations, making sure they track when the target attacked and if their army is back, or if they have gate.
It adds back "strategy" to the strategy game.
Edit: I somehow feel even the attacker would prefer winning less land. As it stands, if the attacker gets a lot of land and no castle, the pre/re really destroys him. He loses 2 castles potentially with land fat.
Lord Thane can we mute people?
