Retal KS %'s - confirmation

Province mate successfully hit by a kingdom 3 times their size, army zeroed and land taken - the attack was a retal. I thought Thane said that no matter what you can't hit a kingdom below 50% of your KS, retal or not. Can you please confirm the rules regarding retals and KS %'s?

You can retail someone below 50% without penalty. Probably shouldn’t hit people outside their weight class

Can't find the post from Thane, but if I recall correctly he said that no matter what you can't hit someone below 50% and it was just the CLI and BF penalties that get removed with a retal. Hoping he can confirm, not looking for your commentary on the issue - thanks.

skigglez just for the 51-99% KS penalty, all other rules stay in effect. So you couldn't retal someone 1/3.

Was asking a question to confirm whether it's a bug or not, wasn't complaining about anything so your comment wasn't required. That's why it has a bug tag, get it? Wanted it on the public forum so that everyone knows what the attack rules are, don't see why that's a problem.

Yep I was mistaken, the code is intentionally set to allow retals to bypass the <50% ks rule.

I guess the justification is in the error message when you try attacking <50% without a retal:

"To crush a kingdom half your might without just cause would bring shame upon your banner. The assault has been aborted."

Having a retal becomes the "just cause", allowing the bigger kingdom to attack without shame lol

Lord Thane actually you weren’t mistaken. I remember you stating this before. You clearly said that it will bypass it due to a retal only. I just don’t remember where it was posted.
