trupheus there is no perfect way to do it.
however, I think people think just because they got to the top at some point they belong there the whole round. that is main character syndrome.
the places should be constantly shifting. the only thing that matters is being number 1 at the end, not what happens months or weeks before the end. allowing the top guy to get the same protections that the little guys get is ridiculous. wanna be on top? live with the consequences of everyone taking their shot at you.
part of that would be to not allow full army wipes in battles. last round I got wiped by a guy almost 2x my size. I couldn't retal if I wanted to, there was no army left. I had qr on and still lost it all. qr when outnumbered should just lose basically nothing and give everything up for free. what general would look across and see an army 50x the size and say fuck, lets charge?
if more of an army survived a battle then sure, let people attack however they want. give bonus's for retals against bigger kds, give harsher punishments to bfers.
also the elo could just be the BAS fix. BAS should drop A LOT when you bf. hitting someone that has no chance should make you go negative. get a short term win for a long term loss.
