I read somewhere on the forum already, but I couldn't find it to comment further. I was thinking that guard towers on could be good defensively if there was a reason to use them (payout is good enough).
I was thinking of mechanic where you can "load" the towers with the basic range unit only (Light Crossbowman, E-Archer, Rock thrower, H-Archer, Slinger)...
Suggested General Parameters:
- Loading capabilities max 25% of GH housing capabilities.
- Still count towards the GH capacity (unit still need a place to "live"/"sleep")
- Units are "assigned", unable to abandon post (no unloading)
- Upkeep increase by 30% (unit has been "promoted" - lesser rangers are killed on battlefield)
- Crime Skyrocket if GH is destroyed (units are also "lost")
- Riot if unable to pay upkeep (GT Destroyed, unit destroyed, other buildings also destroyed, Crime up)
- Also applies if EQ destroys the GT (Riot/Crime/Unit loss)
Benefits
1) Unable to be "zeroed" after being attacked, any follow up attacks (or retals) must still go through the ranged phase with the Loaded - Guard Towers
Downside
1) Promotes Farming... but more costly/risky...
I have no idea how difficult the coding will take... just a suggestion
