Shield Line bugged I think (or gnome possibly?). 2 separate BR's where I attacked a gnome with 1 SB. Tried the same on human and dwarf and didn't kill anything, so thinking maybe it's an issue with gnome. If you're a dwarf or any other race about to hit a gnome I would hold off on attacking anyone for the moment, something not right.

First one he had far fighting on:

But we lost : 1 Shieldbearer 0 Hammer wheilder 0 Axe Man 0 Runner 0 Light Crossbowman 0 Heavy Crossbowman

Second one had no strat:

I was able to confirm the culprit being a bug with the dwarf racial strategy. It was granting 1 attack point per SB in your kingdoms total, so if you had 2k SB you'd get 2k melee attack points in all battles from them, regardless of SB sent. It seemed to only work on gnomes, but it actually affected everyone, it would just not be apparent in testing because the SB would be killed in short range battle (it negates long range, but is vulnerable in short/melee, so if it gets killed in short range, then it won't get the melee attack bug power, and gnomes just don't have short range attack so it's very easy to spot it in tests there).

I added a fix to remove that attack power, also rewrote the section that increases their damages in melee and reduces losses for other units (it was actually bugged and sending defense points to the enemy's army, rather than your own units).

This seems to be a bug that affects Gnomes only. It was tested vs other races with no such mass casualties. Also individual units of all kinds, not just SBs, do mass damage to gnomes as well. I'm not sure about vs other races, but a unit tester would be required.

skigglez lol, good to see people trying to legitimately fix a possible bug. A lot of people would have just kept it in their pocket to abuse some day.

Incidentally, it would be much better if you had only sent 1 SB, because it didn't matter if you sent 1 or 5 or 1000, it would just give the same attack every time (if you had 1500 sb, you'd get 1500 attack points, it didn't matter how many sb were sent in the attack).

This was a small setback for dwarfs, but also a big win too, because now they're correctly getting extra defense added to their army, whereas before it was helping the enemy lol

We randomly stumbled across it, but glad we caught it. My last BR against a human with shield line seemed like i had high losses, so that explains that too.

How was this working? Are you saying that the enemy (me) would have gotten the 140k defense that the SBs were providing and that he would have had the defensive numbers less that 140k? Which would have put his defense to 90k?

Nolio Yep my patch only addressed the bug for attackers, I just copied it over for defenders, should be all good now 🙂

Should SB be doing damage at all? The description of the strategy in the guide says nothing about giving them attack, just increasing the damage they take

The ledger in the market section is showing the reverse buyer and seller. I bought iron for example but i am shown as the seller and vice versa
