Sorry to say but this is a terrible idea. Knowing someone is under or out of protection is a very valueable data to obtain that easily and publicly. This will kill quite few tricks and strategies that can give a player edge. It is fun to have your or enemy province come up with a plan for series of attacks just before tick, but by miscalculating or a suprise factor a critical attack is denied by protection and all plan fails. Managing that needs quick thinking or having plan B under your sleeve. Or sometimes you may choose to break protection before normal time to suprise the plans on your kingdom. There are more that can be done with this info being hidden to public.

I don't know why we are focusing on true sights so much....this is nothing to me if i am ready to hit anyone my size or lower I assume I will win because I run big armies. U can also deduce their size based on land/ks.

Literally you guys think it's such a huge information boost for before I type in my numbers telling me they are in prot? I'm hitting the attack button...period. then they in prot...cool let's rinse and repeat this till it goes through. I am attacking REGARDLESS I just don't have to go through the tedious crap that adds nothing to gameplay to get there. I DO NOT want it to say duration left, now THAT would break the game. This literally just makes it so I don't have to keep typing in my attack numbers.

Like literally if I could and it didn't give retals I would just sent 1 troop to check protection status to save time. Hell want to make an rule if someone hits with 1 troop they don't give a retal? Literally just 1 troop, can't ever win a battle but will give the same result I'm asking for here.

Or even better have some quick buttons like send 50% 75% 100% etc...I would literally just hit 100% every time once I have gate.

    That is a very good idea that solves "typing" problem without messing with the protection mistery. And an easy adjustment to add in the code.
    Have such buttons for both "each unit" and "all army".

      Leo yeah I like that idea, I'm gonna try plopping something in for that if I have time today.

      Thoughts on having an option just to type in the percent (text box)?
      Some may choose a number between 1% and 100%
      instead of limited the option to only 50% or 100%
      FULL send at the top is nice ๐Ÿ™‚

        CyberPtra Nah I like the quick buttons - if someone wants to type they can just type it in the box. I am gonna change those 50%/100% text colors to white though, can't hardly read them at all on mobile as I found out.

        You can make a poll and try to beat me by vote if you want lol

          personally i like the full send haha thats the only button i really need. You can literally click it and adjust numbers from there if u really wanted.

          I have truesighted many times and thought I could take them easy. Then I try to attack and protection...One evening I tried 4 or 5 targets before I found one not in protection.

          I will admit, I am not a big fan of unlimited check protection as some players will just go check player after player and share who is open to their province or ally list.

          On the other hand, I do find it frustrating to cast truesight, then try to attack and they are in protection... Wasted wizards many times.

          How about rather than a check protection at the attack stage, when you go to cast a truesight, it checks and you just can't cast truesight unless they are out of protection. Just make it like the attack and protection, instead of a magic success or fail, you get they are in protection message. and the wizards don't get used.

          Just a thought to avoid wasting wizards on someone that you cannot attack.

            bierlym what about people trying to ts people they have retals on that are in protection?

            What if we had something like "scouts" that could be used to test a kd for protection. We could get 3 of them and they take 24 hours between scouting missions. That'd be pretty easy to setup, limits things quite a bit, and semi realistic for the setting.

            Or maybe instead of scout we could just do a new spell, make it work 100% of the time and only need 1 wizard to cast, but can only be casted few times per day or something to limit use, just tells if there's protection or not.

              Lord Thane The runner deal is kind of a fun concept. Could have a number of runners equal to the number of generals. Could also reduce the cool down with the "transport" technology.

              Lord Thane I think the butt pucker attack and, boom under protection is core to the game. We shouldn't be advertising in or out of protection publicly, if that was the case. Makes bottom feeding far easier.

                Jets bottom feeding is already easy...again...the attack is happening, it just is a matter of wasting players time.

                Once we play a little more and protections get sorted to the final product we will know exactly when u come oop to pop u if u dont do something before that.

                  Darteye you want to bottom feeding easier. Got it!

                  But if you are waiting until right before the tik, then you suddenly find out your target is under pro. You may rush to get an attack in form somewhere else. It's apart of the game to be unaware of the protection status at any given time, the only time you know for sure is when you click, attack.

                  I'd rather someone commit and find out rather than being told the status at all times. Terrible idea.

                  There actually is a penalty script in place to punish bottom feeders. I think it's really lightweight tho. I only skimmed over it briefly while I was bug hunting today... Maybe we should look at expanding its capabilities, make it less attractive to hit-down, and give incentive to punch up. We can get really creative with it. Something to consider when we're done fixing bugs and start working on balancing (soon I hope!).

                  I fully encourage hitting up. Make it Mario Kart style. Too easy to hit around 60-70% kingdom and they cant do anything about it

                    Muh Dude this is kinda a slippery slope, penalizing bottom feeding and incentivizing hitting up i tend to think more or less army efficiency. If you make this too punishing people wont attack and just farm.

                    Bottomfeeding will always be tehre cause its the best way to grow. The only counter to it are alliances, if your a solo player you will get killed most likely. I dont know if i mind this as it forces players to play with their provs etc. This becomes a problem when there is a runaway prov/player who just keeps everyone else down. That is when we gang up 1 person at a time and keep them broken out of the helping hand of their prov/allies.

                    Personally i cant think of a way to stop people from hitting those smaller than them. It is the same in the real world, the weak are conquered by the strong whether it be economically or militarily.

                      As stated I feel like adding whether or not someone is in protection to truesight is a fine work around to this problem, if you donโ€™t care you attack with out truesight, if you do care you truesight and can find out. This will probably balance a bit of the game as people will tend to carry some wizards for countermagic/truesight making armyโ€™s less intense and more manageable for rookies.
