Lord Thane magic just shouldnt give retals

DougEfresh I dunno...unchecked magic can be very crippling like in strife etc...retals may not be answer though. Like what's to stop a lobbies kd fireballing/eq a kd over double their size? That kd can't hit em back without a retal.

Kinda annoying to balance and also not completely ruin a player's experience on either side of coin

Why would spells give retals anyways? Like if some one casted earthquake on a kingdom people would be so freaked out they wouldn’t know someone was responsible for it… maybe shadowhall also doesn’t let the victim of a spell know who casted it?

Hmmmm.. Can we split the difference? Suppose you get a retal for offensive spells, but instead of stacking it just renewed? So you can fireball and earthquake someone to your heart's content, but they'll get one shot back at you. Or... maybe you cant retal on spells through protection? So you couldn't pre/retal against a spell.

Muh Dude i like the idea of them not stacking, but we havent seen a massive school to land kingdom yet. so darteye is right. what stops a lowbie play from fb/eq to hell.
if were keeping retals on spells, we cant have it not go through pro. its would just go, do the spells, pass, no retal happening

DougEfresh My main point was not letting them stack. I think a retal is fair, but that you shouldn't get to pre for a spell retal

Would love to see Elf with gate only. Been preaching this for awhile.

Elven upkeeps need a revamp, first and foremost. Mages need rework. Idk, what we gonna try?

Jules think I'm gonna feed this thread into AI and have it compile a condensed list of proposed changes, make a bigass poll, let everyone vote on as many items as they want (understanding the more items they vote for the more their vote is diluted). Then we'll have a nice overview of what the top5/top10 items players want to see changed, we can discuss/vote on those and push them thru. In the few weeks remaining I'm sure we can work through s good chunk of changes. Maybe not everything, depending on available dev time, but at least the most important things.

I have a feeling elf-only for gate will be positive. If only for the help for hampering castle passing maybe. I think everyone can agree on some smol upkeep reduction too.

Then a little bump for orcs im sure will be popular.

Next, I submit that dwarves get more gold because they live in mountains and apparently need lots of gold and I'm a dwarf now 😇

I do feel like once markets are nerfed and pop gold gain is buffed(maybe), maybe there is room for a dwarf gold buff. But honestly right now I think gold production is too much due to markets. Race doesn't matter, if you don't have 1:1 markets you are doing it wrong. Mandatory markets require a nerf, they should be optional. Lord only know how much techs I could finish in prot right and maintain a good opener. Ya ya ya, research time is way down but I don't ever remember being able to do 2 techs in prot throughout 120 days? There wasn't enough gold.

The end goal balance will definitely require Dwarfs needing more gold, because they simply do. A quick look at the unit page shows so. But right now I think markets are over tuning everything so we should start with that.

Mack10 lol, I would have been happier with the iron 😂

There was talk about making that spell consume less iron, maybe just for elves. Or making it also work as an offensive spell. We'll prolly need to add that to the polls.

Mack10 heh, I think it used to be 10x that amount, so roughly 30x gold to iron… but there was entropy+/- 15 or 20%. Sometimes more some times less.
Also there was a cap or how much iron you would convert, I assume this would be 10-20 percent based on schools:land and wizards used.

Lord Thane I was testing it, well honestly trying to get enough gold to start another tech.... I miss my iron!
