I spent 24 hours making less than 5k gold per tick so hopefully you won’t have to, due to this problem I think it needs to be addressed because we did not have issues like this previously. First the issue arises basically only at 3 castles but it’s a big problem that will see abandoned kingdoms and players Quitting if something is not done. When you build your first castle the adrenaline is high you want to attack for your third to get a nice start and more land and prevent being halved but when attacking, and this ties into a few other threads about retals, you give out a little beacon for 24 hours that says basically here is two free castles for an aposing alliance. As one no doubt you sent over half your army to attack for the castle and so when you enevitalbly get brought down to 1 castle again you have less land than you started with basically no troops from the onslaught against your kingdom and half your army is sitting doing nothing but eating 2x as much food, the issue is pretty clear and is tough to solve, but I think one way to do this is to get rid of retals. If your kingdom attacks another and they don’t have the ability to defend them selves why should they have this free attack to leach back some strength after the opponent has already been crushed by one of their BFF’s removing removing Retals takes out a lot of the problems except when it comes to castle passing which will have to be solved later as kingdoms will be able to stay in protection all the time while gaining strength.
My solution is not just eliminate retals it should give the defender at least some boost to try and get his land back. This would result in a boon after being attacked where the population regrows more quickly and war preparedness happens more readily. During this thine 10% of existing pop is replenished per hour in addition to normal pop gain and training increases a little say like 2 -4 units per tick depending. This will help when small and not matter as much when big which is the point. Rather than percentage increases which will be totally op late game.

Closing remarks pop growth is already a problem please we need reform. I suggest a 4-6 hour replenish time where whatever missing pop you have gets returned, as well as a cap on the amount of pop gain equal to 10% of max. So you would start with 1200 pop and max of 2k you would gain up to a cap of 120 pop per tick. The first tick then the max on the second tick would 132 then max on third tick 145 and 160 and 176 then 190 untill you filled the pop space

And if you had 10000 pop and 3k space your gain would be 1000, 1.1k 900

Also the gap between 1 and 3 castles is large and there isn’t a good way to bridge it currently this is probably mostly due to the low player count at current. I have a feeling with 500 players it will be easyer to get and keep castles.

No retals would be interesting, sure would solve some issues! What's funny is we've actually expanded the retal system (magic causing retals).

Perhaps it should be disabled for now. At least until there's more players where aggressive gameplay can be absorbed by the community. Everyone seems to be under the impression "its just how the game works", yeah but it won't even be a game at all if the few player we have are driven off by people trying to dominate. This is why I've pushed ahead ideas that detract from min-maxing.

It's a major shift tho, so IDK. Needs a poll to get more input.

Can I suggest another Poll option. No retails <5 castles?
This allows you to drop to no lower then 3 castles per attack and keeps your KD going.....

I think this no-retal thing has some good merit. People will be more open to the idea of attacking if they know they can't get slapped back 2X.

Shutting it down based on # castles is a good one. But how about keeping it on for bottom feeders? Lol. Something like attacking at 75% your KS and lower generates a retal for the defender. That'd be funny 😃

I like the idea of no retals, right now you put yourself at too much of a disadvantage by attacking first, pretty much guaranteeing you are going to give up double what you gained, especially painful early round. The current system is very punishing to people who either play solo or in a small group as the pre/retal system has always favored large groups.

No retals would create so many scenarios. None of them are good.

Makes BFing even easier. Not only can assassinator smoke someone half his size now they can’t even get someone to pre to take the re.

Never get to hit someone back because you’ll be able to coordinate permanently hiding in protection.

Once gate is in play good luck non magic races. Hit 4 times. Hide in protection. Generals get back send them army out 4x again. No fear of attacking too much. But very few people are going to be out of protection.

As a bigger kingdom you’re in a slow freefall once 5 people get together to break you.

Your playing both sides of the same coin, is it good for bigger kingdoms or bad? Once we introduce 3 ticking would that be better or worse?

What about with no retails, trimming down the losses taken? It's like a max of fifty percent of your troops get killed. This would make building back up a lot easier and quicker. And get that person back into the fight.

Blahblah i mean, it's more interesting when there's more attacks happening. Am I right?Where am I wrong? The more devastating attacks are against someone else. The less battles you're going to have, because they're going to be out of commission for a while. This also discourages a new player base from forming

Blahblah one other thing I was thinking about there should be a Max amount of land that can be captured with a castle. I think I've seen this posted somewhere else. But when you've got like 2 castles and say 70 land somebody hits you and they take 40 land there's one of your castles. Your kingdom's really cut in half your army's really decimated, if they caught it at home, it's very discouraging to a player. It's very devastating toward kingdom

Twenty hours is nowhere mirror enough time to even train half that fast. You can get half of it. I'm on train and q look, by the time you come out of protection. Do you have maybe a about a third of that. No way to defend, and there's no real target for you to hit.That's that weak.
