skigglez why do we have to act like 5-year-old children and keep the Max amount of protection time from CLI a secret? Why don't you just tell people how much it is? Is it the same amount of time as protection or not?It's a simple question, but everybody seems to be avoiding it? If it's the same amount of time, I do not want to waste any more of my time playing. And i'm sure there are many other people who feel the same way. So stop with the secrecy, answer the question.

    Sinnywinks if tech is maxed out it should grant the same amount of protection as a retal, which is 24 hours. I think once you have enough castles the max amount of defender protection you can get is 18 hours. Theres been a lot of chat about increasing defender protection times, and I think that idea has merit.

      Lord Thane yeah, there's no reason that the stronger Kingdom should get more protection. Then, a retaliation, right, I can understand wanting to give an attacker a chance to build up to defend what he has taken. But that just makes the game.So lopsided towards anyone who's lost an defense battle.

      I could see doing twenty hours of max protection for the attacker, but the defender should get twenty four hours of protection and retaliation, right. Make it a small window where someone else could lead for them. I just don't see the point of playing a game where the victor has all of the advantage.

        What if cli was just randomized amount of protection time for the attacker? A minimum number of hours to a maximum number of hours but not to exceed that protection retaliation hours i mean, you could even make that the last branch of the tech it randomizes the hours between a tree 4 and max

          Sinnywinks I don't really think that it's right to say people can't defend themselves. 2 of the 3 castles I lost I could have gotten it back with retal by myself.

          The first castle I lost was to a guy at 19k ks while I was 10k, and he suicided with 100% sent - unfortunately CLI has been turned to tech at that time and I would not get protection if I retal, though I could have easily got my castle back.

          I decided not to make castles for a while since bottom feeding is rampant. Instead I focus on techs and building ATC units to better defend when I'm ready to grow again.

          I think if we disable CLI for kingdoms bottom feeding less than 70% their KS, it will help a lot. And when I have CLI, then I could freely retal to get my castle back, or even pre-re if someone bottom feeds me.

          Sinnywinks that's a good idea, we can definitely consider doing that once we get more data about how CLI is used in its current form.

            I would expect that anything short of 100% coverage of retal time brings us back to the same spot of the 40 person alliance pre-re's every single attack and it becomes the same game of castle passing, just delayed.

              skigglez maybe we can chancify retal time, protection time, cli time. I like having these ideas on the back burner in case we need options to spice things up or improve issues we haven't run into yet. Good to have options, whatever makes the best gaming experience for everyone.

              The defender protection time has a little bit of chance to it already, depending on if a castle is lost and depending how many castles you have. But I think we need to bump those numbers up and increase the ranges, so something like any castle loss could result in 18-24 hours protection, at least... Interestingly enough if I recall how the code works, you actually get more protection possible when you have lots of castles, doesn't seem intuitive to me.
