I would like to open a discussion around passing for protection.

I was hit last tick. He only took land. No CLI for you bottom feeding scumbag and I hope the losses were worth it.

But we lost : 538 Mage 0 Swordman 0 Lanceman 0 Caragous 123 Archer 488 Elite Archer

Sweet let’s get him, easy hit for someone now. I’ll wait a couple ticks and then kill the retrain. Except he has already passed to someone else so he gains protection.

This seems like abusing the system put in place to disable hitting inside your prov… you’re clearly working together in different provinces and getting around systems put in place to prevent things just like this. But eVErYoNE dOeS iT. If everyone does something to get around rules out in place there’s no point in having the rule.

My first thought is get rid of it. No point in having it.

My second thought is that any attack that does not take a castle (including fails) provides 2 ticks where THE ONLY person that can hit is the person that was attacker. This is to prevent 1 unit retals to circumvent this rule. I don’t like it. We keep having system after system added to “fix” things that just create a new more complicated system that will also be explored somehow.

Please share opinions.

Get rid of what? Not really sure what you want to get rid of, or the rationale behind getting rid of it.

I mean, the guy got pretaled for you already, whether by his friend or by chance, he's still ripe for you to send a miniscule force to retal if you want, so his kingdom is still getting double wrecked - triple wrecked if you count that horrid loss of army lol

Oh and not worth hitting someone that’s a 60% chance for castle. That just leaves me exposed for them to hit me again or I resort to passing for protection if I don’t take a castle which just kills more of my precious wizards.

Look it was coordinated. I appreciate that on some levels. I would just prefer for you guys to be able to play united together in 1 province and not have to work around a system out in place.

I hear you about this being annoying, but I'm gonna have to pass on trying to stop it. We have so many mechanics at play to help bottom feeds, pre-re, castle passing, on and on - this is a good spot to stop and let people get comfortable playing with the rules already in place.

Working with people in other provinces is now a bad thing? Isn't that exactly what you do as a pure caster? What are you even talking about? Why would our group not employ the same tactic that everyone else does? That just puts us at a disadvantage to satisfy YOUR code of ethics? You literally got multiple kingdoms to hit me when I was attacking you last week dude. Seems like you only are a fan of things that go your way, and anything outside of that you come to the forums to complain about. And can we please stop posting BRs with time stamps and kingdom names in them?

FriendsInSpace he's talking about people doing a "land/castle pass" after a failed attack, so they can get protection to prevent getting pre-re by the enemy. They'd rather get pre by their ally.

FriendsInSpace you’re not allowed to attack inside your province. This was an after round start change. So groups that split up between racial provinces to get those boosts are still able to pass between each other.

They do all of this scheming behind the scenes together to try and take certain groups of people down, and when it doesn't go exactly as planned there's a forum post about something being broken that prevented it. They employ the exact same tactics as the rest of the players, but it's only when it goes against them that it's an issue. It's a very short sighted and pathetic way to approach the game, to be honest

I view land passing as a lesser evil than castle passing. Thing is, if they are land passing then they rolled the dice and failed in the castle chance, which then means you get to roll the dice and snipe a castle from them to get CLI. 0 military at home, same as castle passing, but with protection advantages should the dice be in your favor.

It sucks that you can't double grab em, but you should be able to get your stuff back minus losses at the least. Short of removing protection and retals in their entirety (which would make for an interesting round i bet... Haybol's 30 accounts would dominate) I don't see how you put in any sort of system that can't be sidestepped in some way.

As an example, having 2 ticks where the only person that can hit that person is the attacked, how do you resolve that with multiple attacks sent out in a tick? Latest attack? First attack? What about if I have a retal on the attacker from before? I can see at least 1 way that a dedicated duo could make a kingdom impossible to hit by anyone depending on how it would be implemented.

IMO probably best if we mellow out on the changes for now, focus on bug fixes even if they ruin my mage army, and see what tweaks should be made for next round

Same goes to you - you got people outside of your province to hit me. Pretty hypocritical to complain about it now, no? No hard feelings here dude, it's just a game. But don't come at it from some position of authority on what's the correct way to play the game. If it's possible within the ruleset, it's fair game.

That's kind of where I'm at. We already put so many buffs, blocks, and nerfs in place to address so many scenarios - at this point I can't see tipping the scales any further in either direction. I also think people are fatigued with change and need time to settle in.

Oh yeah no changes for sure. Considering big changes were made during the round can hardly count this as real. Although even in real rounds NAPs and alliances were formed.

You literally told me that I needed to change my play style. And you’ve contributed nothing to this thread.

My first thought, get rid of not being able to attack inside your province. This would let you all easily play inside your province. We’d have to consider that you don’t get racial bonuses, which is silly. Clearly you’ve prove that groups will just split up and play together. So… maybe eliminate the idea of provinces and let people name/form their own alliances.

I already said I don’t like my second idea. But if I’m going to oppose an idea I’m going to propose multiple ideas as other possibilities.

trupheus I don't know where some of you people get this myth that old Thardferr was stable or didn't constantly change every round. I think I personally found+abused+reported at least 15 major bugs in my first round.

The only real difference is we publicly talk about bugs, whereas old Thardferr swept them under the rug.
