Should we let MPs do Truesight?

I don't know if it would be good or bad, but I want to hear thoughts and opinions. If yes, why? If no, why not?

I think yes. It makes MPs more valuable and allows kingdoms who don't go magic to have a little bit of something they can do to help fight back when they get BF and don't know if they can retal.

I guess TS is sort of in a grey zone as far as being an offensive spell. Interested to hear what people think and rationales for changing it. I think making TS more accessible would be a good idea, but IDK if this would make it too accessible 🙂

I say yes, but you gotta triple the price point of MPs in the market..

Lord Thane It seems to be in a good place for production levels, but raising the market price does make sense to me. And because it's one of those grey zone spells is exactly why I think it's good to let everyone have. TS doesn't actually do anything, it just allows for decision making. Let everyone have that ability with MPs and I think it will allow more attacks

Nolio I buy a lot of MP for blessings, a lot of times at Market rate. If the price was increased much more then I wouldn't be able to use it for friendly spells anymore because the cost would not work out. As it is now, I can usually get about 4-6 ticks work of profit from blessing when I remove the mp cost.

So I think increasing the difficulty of casting TS with mp would be the only way we could feasibly do it.

Lord Thane I've thought for a while now what the market charges per resource would be more interesting if it floated somehow based on demand. Too many buyers, not enough sellers? Market baseline price goes up. Reverse also true.

FriendsInSpace @Cora and I talked about that a few times before, got some interesting ideas for doing things like that, and doing flash sales.

The problem is getting dev time. Have a lot of things in the back burner, and stuff is always getting in the way. Today I spent 3 hours investigating a multi situation, could have been valuable dev time but some people want to waste time trying to cheat 🥺

I might have to pause all game dev just to finish building out a crazy anti-cheat system. Someone seems to think using a VPN is good enough to hide their tracks lol

My thoughts are, we are losing the essence of the elven race by turning them into MP whore houses. I'd prefer that MP remain as basic as possible.

To become friends with an elf is to become a Thardferrian.

I don’t think that TS is an offensive spell. Which that thinking alone means I should be ok with this. However, I don’t know that every race should have access to TS with 1:1 elven wizards. You can GC, Bless, FS, FW, NG, GB, and Gate with MP. What’s the point of elf again?

trupheus It's a good point but I think the differences are:

Elves can do all those things better
Elves get additional spells
3 Elves can do offensive spells and can do them better

So is it good to let others use MPs for TS? Maybe, maybe not. If anything it drives up the value of MPs even more so that Elves who produce it can sell it for more. Is that a good thing? Again, I don't know lol

But it is a fun thought

TheKeeper That's why I say reach out! Make some friends! That's a big part of this game. That's how so many of us became friends and joined in provinces together over the years.
