I really appreciate this, quite kind words really. And I do believe there are downsides. The way I like to approach problems in game dev is by trying to maintain as close to a balance as I can while making things that have benefits, also have detriments. I try to think of how something can be abused and remove that. It doesn't always work, and I make a ton of mistakes. And when I do, people like yourself point them out. If I agree they are issues then I give you praise. If I disagree, I try to be open and honest about why I disagree.
I simply want to try to make the games we love and play, more balanced and fair to prevent as much poor game mechanics and abuse as possible. I don't always succeed, I know that. Some ideas are awful, I know that too! But I'll keep trying because I care. And I take feedback and try to adapt. And I try not to take anything personally. Everyone here is awesome for still playing this game decades later. You'll get no hate from me
