At 1.6 buildings and 40% of my pop farming, the peasants are eating about 34% of the food supply.
If we cut the food demands of peasants in half, it would free up about 8% of my pop to be used elsewhere + some buildings, so we'd see faster build times on armies, more peasants ready to be drafted into army.
I think it would be disproportionately beneficial to gnomes (as the true fodder race), and as a gnome I'm now on board with this idea ๐
But seriously, I think we've seen enough data to support this idea now. It wouldn't completely solve the issues people have spoken about in regards to build and production issues, but it would be an incremental step toward easing those difficulties.
+1 from me to reduce peasant food budget by half. But also I want to see what more people think, in case someone can think of a negative issue we shouldn't do this.
