We are still out here getting full zeroed, not to mention i have -11 max build again. i had 30 buildings on the go when i was hit. but it still shouldn't get you to - if the code we talked about was doing the right thing.

The casualty caps I was testing were removed in favor of the old style, so getting fully zeroed is expected possible behavior. But I thought there's supposed to be a 'defend with 70%' rule, we can probably look into that.

AdinTheDark yeah the novelty of it has worn off on me already lol... I think it would be better to just have 10-20 responses on random that load instantly. To give additional variation we could swap them out or add more new ones every round or something.

Need to get a player settings page setup for things like this, toggle off ai.

Base attack bonus is only going up on successful defends. My base started at five. Had one defense it went to 7. Made two attacks and it stayed 7. Won another defense and now it’s 9

I know low number of battles at this point, but training units for a full week and losing 100% of troops in one battle. will take me 40+ game days to retrain the army I had. some adjustment to troops dying is needed. Ridiculous to lose a week of work in seconds.

Seems like there should be A LOT more losses on the gnome side, unless fodder hides behind siege now or something lol

Edit: Is ranged still cut in half in this game? ie were the RT's 4/1's or 2/1's? Assuming he had range tech, and he had FF on.

Jules running it through AI for a rough calc just based on casualties, seems pretty consistent just on a casualties v casualties basis:

The dwarven attackers mustered about 17.6 k Attack against gnomish units whose combined Defense was 16.0 k, so their offensive power was sufficient to wipe out roughly 8.5 k gnomish troops.

The gnomish counter-attack had roughly 35.7 k Attack vs dwarven 36.1 k Defense, meaning dwarven defenses slightly out-matched the gnomes’, capping losses at about 4.4 k dwarven warriors.

The aggregate Attack vs. Defense ratios line up nicely with the ₂: 1 kill ratio observed—so the reported casualties are consistent with the unit stats.

@Jules if I understand correctly, if one side is OP, they lose a lot less as they already butcher your attackers during the first phases. That’s why we lost so much while attacking you and sometimes your losses barely batted an eyelid.

The BR's against you guys seem fine-r to me. It does look like I needed to lose more against each BR, particularly Adin, but you guys didnt send nearly enough damage. Ideally roughly half the losses of a human, comps depending. I was shield-walling and had like .66GT/acre or something like that, for fun... no idea how well that played into it.

This "butchering in the first phases" really stands out as Dwarf vs Gnome when the unit stats are opposite. Is this really what it was? Then again, I didn't get zero'd, so was it? Where was muh shield line, and Axemen frankly lol. Is FF working for both sides?

Range phase is probably no longer halved and benefits from what you describe above, leaving melee in situational lurches? Some gnome should go 50/50 cats+bals and use FF, there's enough wood for it lol. Could RT's be 8/1's with two gnomes on FF? sounds juicy

Honestly I don't know enough about how these systems work now to really say much lol.

my total long range damage in the fight was 51.6k. (assuming damage isn't halved like it was in old thardferr)

I believe the Gnome attack power was much more, not that it helps my case lol. He had that damage in just RT's, assuming he has range tech. Then he had FF on. _15k RT's that are either 4/1 or 2/1, which is it? But we only used 5k for the above.

I dunno man, maybe it is what it is. Does shield line work, and what exactly does "Other units damages reduced depending on shieldbearer damages."

This 2:1 ratio, what is it? We expect 2:1 losses, dwarf vs gnome or gnome vs gnome?

Jules None of the Gnomes have much weapon upgrades yet, if any. I know Trupheus doesnt have sling tech.
Maybe we could get some Quick Technologies to test out end game attacks to help Balance.
Keep in mind Gnomes have unlimited resources as well and to sustain the heavy Cats and Bal's, which would be impossible to sustain/build without Keepers Gifts.

Feel like you're leaving out BRs... when it was my full army vs your full army you absolutely smoked me. few hits to weaken you and somehow I broke you (honestly thought I would lose and the next person in line would break).

My army in these fights is roughly the same size, just different compositions and strategy.

You're weak, I crush. There were 2 other hits before this one. If you were on shield line for this fight, I don't see it going well for you with that few of SB.

No you misunderstand, this isn't about winning battles lol, I was only questioning the damage on that second report and now think it's probably correct. Now, I just want to know how big RT's get with tech and FF, or if range is halved.

Dwarves are the same. That’s the drawback right? You both have powerful units but they are costly to build and upkeep. With the gifts Dwarves and Gnomes should be very powerful. Makes me realize that balancing should probably wait till after an actual round. The devs can compile our input and decide what they want to do with it. Then they can code and update the balances with the next round.

Balancing under these circumstances is biased I believe so we should just try and find some more little buggies

AdinTheDark that's the ticket. Pretty much the only balance I'm aiming for currently is that everything that's supposed to happen actually does happen lol. That kind of testing on a 1:1 basis is really hard when you have strategies, tech, magic, buildings, and race modifiers. I tried to test that early on in the test round, but by now it's pretty impossible due to so many modifiers in play. When I get a chance to do further attack tests I plan to make some new kingdoms and run as close to 1:1 twsta as possible, then rerun the same tests with modifiers in play to make sure they're working. I'll post the results when I do it.
