skigglez just asked about for the damage totals produced from both armies in the battle engine, not their army composition, something was done few times before. Respect not being disclosed as being a fresh BR or whatever reason.

It is clear both races have moderate to low range. Therefore the battle was won entirely in the short stage.

To not go further to the malee stage is quite impressive, specifically with undead hight ATC defence power.

Will trust Thanes take here that is expected and maybe not OP.

Regardless, appreciate what was shared, unsure why all discussions points need to be taken in a malicious way. If this is a big advantage for Orcs then let all Orcs take it for their advantage.

skigglez it would be cool if we could figure a way of showing the attack powers involved in each battle phase as part of the regular battle reports though (without giving away the #'s people could use to figure out all the secrets hehe)... My idea for one of the themes to include visual elements of battles would kind of do that, the way I imagine it there would be little sprite images of units representing each army, then they'd go through each phase of battle and you could see how much of them die in each phase, give a sort of simple visualization of how the battle actually played out.

Konkistador Orcs are purpose built to be masters of short range attack, if they get to short they can be super dangerous against anyone (humans do this too). But they have a lot of weaknesses too, like weak long range and highly weak against pikes and fairly low defense in general. If facing an Orc enemy, you'd want to build lots of ranged and lots of pike I would imagine.

If that same Orc had attacked me when I was at 100% and using far fighting strat, they would have been totally vaporized in long range lol... That makes me weak to Dwarfs though, so I changed my strat just to deal with them since that's generally what attacks me the most.

Konkistador It might seem it’s being taken in a malicious way, but it’s just frustration. Posts are made to complain about the race being weak yet they are playing it as sub-optimally as possible. Refuse to take any sort of feedback either, say they are playing it correctly and the rest of us just have no experience. They are the same ones who couldn’t make Orc work and swapped because Orc sucked. Everything is blamed on outside circumstances and it’s just annoying to see it spammed on the forums. Nothing of value is offered - just a BR and “these losses too high” or “undead weak”

Lord Thane I think it would be a wonderful idea to show the Attack Powers of the Phases in the BR. It wouldn't give too much away, but it would help people realize their short comings.

If Haybol had see the Phase Attack Powers, he could have realized that the Short Range Phase destroyed him, and that he needs to focus on Long Range to fight that particular opponent.

It would give the players an idea on how to modify and change their armies which is a great thing to have in a strategy game!

Definitely add the Attack Powers and the Phases! That's such a great idea

Lord Thane Sure, and this is what I like about Thardferr, exploiting each others races weaknesses. Each army type have ways to counter others as long as there's none that becomes OP as it goes for resources, some races should always struggle with food others with gold and having Elf dependence for magic power.

Guess this meant to be a healthy discussion on how undead fits in being a new race.

I think your idea about the visualisation of what each side damage pulls at each stage could be super cool and maybe a step close to modern days gaming. And how each stage eats away the total defence.

Even adding it to the battle report could be a cool addition.

Guess there is always more merit wining a battle being a David than a Goliaths.

Lord Thane my tactical didn't work? I thought it could make all the troops wiser in attacking/defending and has a great chance of winning the battle. 🤔🤔🤔

And battle tech seems good having level 2 blade, range tech, level 1 armor, fortification, and tactical knowldege. 😅😅😅

With army attack power per phase… could probably figure out more accurate army comp ranges than a typical TS. Now a verbal epic description of each phase that is loosely based on the numbers behind it would be more interesting.

Could have something in the battle text, like "Sure, due to the enemies overwhelming long range, we were forced to retreat before our infantry could take the field"

Or "My lord, our long range was winning the battle, but then right before our troops made it into melee we were slaughtered by the enemy, they were too fast"

trupheus that's what I did in my Battle Advisor. Instead of giving raw numbers it would just spit out one of 100 flavored texts based on various conditions and outcomes, with suggestions on strats/units to change to get a better outcome.

This idea is actually doable, I'll poke around at it when I get some time to see what we can do 🙂

trupheus I still dont think its manageable selling MP. Thats a huge risk not being self reliant to sustain a build that takes a week of no hits just to get to the point it starts to be effective.

Strider Hasn’t Truph essentially done that all round though? There will always be people wanting to buy MP’s, he essentially sets the market price.
