TheKeeper What is the surprise? The day that the round ends or the time on Friday that it ends? And I assume the time will be game time? Ends between 12:01am and 11:59pm on Friday, August 29th?

Lol. a HoF for a test round?

Reasons I say this was a test round:

CLI was added mid round
New techs were added mid round
Players were switching races
Players were moving provinces
Generals report was added.

with that said, I like parts of CLI. I like the new food tech. Generals report gives some interesting info.

I do think the race changes and province jumping was quite unfair to those of us that were in smaller provinces to get fed on all round. 5 of the 8 in my province restarted or quit. We had some nice late joiners I enjoyed playing the game with. I had some fun and some frustration throughout the round.

Lord Thane I am okay with no more people enabling vacation mode in the last week of a round. But I don't agree with kicking people who were out of town off vacation mode to get beat down while they are on vacation. What is the point of even having vacation mode if you disable it on players?

Other players may have a different opinion, but I think screwing people while they are away on vacation is wrong.

Magnum Mark it's to prevent abuse in the last 2 weeks of the round, so people don't just pump their KS up artificially and then hit Vaca to ride out the last 10 days to secure their spot in the hof. If people wouldn't abuse it, we wouldn't have to do it.

Lord Thane I think there is already abuse happening with CLI that overshadowed vaca mode. If you saved your vaca mode for the end of the round to pump KS so what.

Its not as bad as abusing cli to guarantee protection 24/7 and make it impossible for people you've bottom fed to retal.

Lord Thane People already in vacation mode not knowing end of round was upcoming. and you remove their protection? Come one. be reasonable and fair. not screw over players in vacation mode before end of round was announced. Terrible abuse of admin power.

Why not just have their kingdoms hidden from the rankings in the KHoF while in Vacation mode? They no longer become part of the ranks until they're back and active

IMHO, Changes should be between rounds not messing up and totally changing rounds.

trupheus Mostly additions (could be HUGE) and QoL, bug fixings and minor game mechanics, for sure, new techs and spells!

In my opinion, if it's in the middle of the round, you're changing the fabric of the game (outside of QoL changes). That really carries quite a toll on players. If we need a 2 week mini fun run (15 minute ticks? 😃) that's cool. Put in as much as you want in that time, but once the real round starts, it's gotta be as stable as possible. During that time some things just might prove to not be ready for PROD.

Magnum Mark what abuse? The rules for vaca mode were clearly posted from day 1, not only in the official post I made (which consisted of a whopping 3 sentences, 1 of which was that it will be disabled in the last 2 weeks), but also in the game guide as well.

Lord Thane You have to announce a round end. To date there has been no notification of round end. Communiciation is completely lacking.

Magnum Mark I agree, set dates would be much better. I think it would be cool if there was even a calendar in-game that showed all that stuff, maybe it could show special events too like item drops.
