Blahblah I don't know why you're directing that at me, I'm not playing this round. But the devs are aware of the "issue". If something is in the game at what point does it become abuse? And who decides when it crosses into the territory of abuse? People were claiming abuse last round when the same kingdom hit them multiple days in a row, which is just ridiculous. 🫡🫡🫡

Cora I'm not. I'm Necromancer of Dark Woods. I'm at L2 and didn't cast any offensive spells. I just hit him, won fair and square and Of started to exploit this shit. And now he moved to L2 so i can't even have someone from my province to pre retail him. How the fuck is that even possible?

Well. Typed out an entire post on my phone, and guess I didn't post it. Short version.

I'm guessing that FB, EQ, and TS are similar in that for the spell to succeed a minimum "score" has to be achieved and then once it has succeeded, the effectiveness of the spell is determined, with some randomness thrown in the effectiveness.

Racial defenses and defenses from wiz/schools might not be factoring correctly, or the minimum "score" is just too low.

they definitely aren't. Friends rattled off like 6 straight EQ's on Haymol with 66 wizards and 1.7 schools against 200+ wizards with 2500 resting, and 1.9 schools. Not a single failure, so my guess is it's 100% success rate if you're in the KS thresholds they set last round. The TS issue is completely different - there doesn't seem to be any thresholds at all, up or down. People were testing it out towards the end of the round and you could use minimum wizards to TS a kingdom 3x or higher your KS if they weren't running any school/wiz. There needs to be some sort of cap to how high and low you can go with all offensive spells, including TS. For TS you can't scale down the accuracy for KS differentials, because alot of the time you're just looking to see if there's zeroes which isn't part of the accuracy randomizer. Haybol's abuse of Beast was apparent to anyone who was fighting them - you hit Haybol and you're getting at least 5 TS from Beast in that retal window. Happened to our group throughout the entire round - massive advantage to use low kingdoms to TS. You outgrow them and have no ability to interact with the kingdom at all, but they can just bomb TS on you all round.

Spells probably shouldn't even be looking at KS, should be entirely land based.

I picture it as.

Spell success on yourself = wiz used and schools per land
Beneficial spell success on someone else = wiz used and your schools per their land. (no resistance, why would you fight back against a beneficial spell)
Non-beneficial spell success on someone else = wiz used and your schools per their land vs their wiz defending (rested and not) and their schools per land

trupheus I don’t think it should be your schools per their land. Keep it the caster’s schools per land for ratio based on target’s land.

trupheus yeah that would be a big improvement. Then I think you would need to tie TS's success rate into land as well, with scaling resistance depending on how much higher the kingdom is. I can see how it would make sense to TS down on people, but casting up 2x or more your land/KS is just dumb. The other option is to make the randomizer do random number variance instead of random % variance - that would be the easiest solution. Would make TS casts essentially useless if they weren't done by someone within a reasonable KS/land ratio of you.

I could see it going either way. your score vs their score kinda deal, but then we land ourselves right back in the scenario of, what about races that it's really not economically viable to run schools and wiz.

With scaling it to your schools on their land you'd have a certain amount of resistance cooked into that. And the score to achieve is based on the kingdom being cast on, not the kingdom doing the casting. let's say a kingdom with 1000 land would need a score of 5000 vs a kingdom with 100 land needing a score of 500. would have made it really hard for a kingdom with 200 schools to cast on someone with 1000 land.

trupheus I see, that would be a viable solution then in my book. Anything is an improvement over current state. This has been brought up multiple times already, so don't think the devs view it as a priority. Definitely a much bigger problem than gnome and dwarf not having gate, but that was important enough to implement. Hope they have the same view on this topic, although it isn't as shiny as the former.

In all fairness, I know he had that idea months ago and presumably has been slowly working on it for a while. At a certain point it's like well.... abandon the thing I've been working on and lose all that time, or just finish it so it wasn't a complete waste. It's a great feeling when a project you've spent time on gets scrapped for whatever reason. At the time I think gate was a much hotter topic. CLI really reduces the strength of gate, it can still be useful it's just not as useful.

GB though.... just get rid of it, if you want higher productivity for wood/iron just turn that into resources that are accessible to all. 😆 🪓 🤯 edit turn it into TECHS

And provinces. Get rid of those too. Let people create their own alliance; the creator manages who gets in. Alliances do nothing but put people in groups.

trupheus yeah in the current state of the game with this small player base, having provinces at all doesn't make sense. If you have a small group that all go in the same prov with no outside alliances, it's a huge disadvantage because you lose access to passing castles. That's all theoretical though, because our group split up at the beginning of the round and everyone else had multi province alliances all round so everyone had equal access to the passing castle stuff.

I don’t think the concern brought up was magical protection. I believe that was by design to only give magical protection when more than 10% or 15% of buildings are destroyed.

The problem is magic defence. You shouldn’t be able to eq someone with more schools and wizards than you with minimum cast.

George that actually was a concern. I messaged him about it because Haymol was able to continue to cast on me after I was under magical pro. That was a problem. The whole thing is a problem. Who can rebuild after so many offensive attacks repeatedly after coming out of magical pro over and over? And it’s being done to provmates who can’t do an attack back (not talking magical). If it’s exploitable, you guys find it and use it. It’s disgusting.

Cora haha disgusting is a bit of a reach. Those who were testing it (definitely not me) appear to be concerned that even with having sufficient wizards/schools to prevent 2 wiz/land EQ casts, 100% of the casts were successful. Therefore, magic defense isn't working. Magical protection is another issue and Keeper seems to have fixed it. 🫡🫡🫡
