Lord Thane
Man I said the exact same thing months ago. I’ve said it multiple times in different places. This is nothing new. I didn’t want to spoon feed it in the other thread. No additional rationale was added after I left my comment and lack of vote. There’s many ideas re-emerging that are just recycled old ones of previous ideas, not just mine but others as well.
Lack of vision for the long term effects of changes made (seemingly) in haste or in a silo of folks who don’t see (or want to see) the full picture outside of just theirs is a detriment to the long term development of the game itself.
Changes to game mechanics close one door but open another. Do you want it to feel bad to be bigger than others? Because it does if you’re in the sweet spot where there’s casters in your 70-50% range.
CLI prevents the pre/re but enables situations where every person that’s a suitable hit is in protection. So then that kingdom gets hung out to dry. Hitting and not getting CLI is a death sentence.
Disabling intraprovince attacks forces groups to be in different provinces to use standard castle and land preservation techniques.
Racial province buffs makes playing in a lithar province a disadvantage for most.
Changing retal rules punishes kingdoms for winning the game.
Magic is in a weird state again because of recent changes. One thing that’s been constant is for some strange reason it is acceptable for offensive magic to be easier to cast than beneficial magic. Really? Say that out loud and tell me it makes sense.
