Enphetamy my vision for the future of offensive casting is one where casters can use them (again) without facing annihilation.
Even when it was easy to hit 15% with a simple 2:1 wiz, I would hesitate knowing that a rental was coming that would crush me.
Now if we remove most of those nerfs, and a caster can fire off a fireball and an eq without facing retal or dealing with some of the other nerfs, that would be ideal. So a bigger kingdom loses a relatively small number of buildings and pez, how do they fight back?!?! Well, they can build magic defenses, they should actually work. When I told people they can make .5 schools and a modest amount of wiz for defense, it was the truth, it should have been pretty decent defense. The ksratio and multi bugs just messed it up, and subsequent attempts to "fix" just addressed symptoms.
Magic won't be fixed until a caster feels safe using the spells, and victims know there's a way to defend. The existing nerfs are a problem, and the defense logic still is too.
