I think Mages and SW hiding may not be working right (looking around forums)....

I ran elf as a mixed army until i got to where i was able to I2G for my eco and then went mass ATC cara/EA/Mage armies (focusing on cara). I wont some BIG battles HOWEVER it was NOT good if you were constantly hit or make 1 mistake and get ur army caught home cause once u get behind with a cara build you STAY behind.

Also i would venture that this was only doable with the broken I2G of old.

Xliest How so? Like Jules said, 2 RT's can take out 1 Mage....

Mack10 i dont think that without OP old I2G that gave tons of gold and took no iron you should make mages...EA prolly better bet unless mages get adjusted

Darteye What about if they were housed in GT's and could not die (other then an loss of GT's) on defense?

Mack10 would be OP....having immune units on defense screams boring gameplay to me...literally just farm all game and spell people offensively and defend with ur invincible mages...or hell just farm

Mack10 sure but against other races you think a 7 ranged unit is fair with how ranged is currently? I lost an entire 2k unit army to a guy with 600 elite archers…

Who is going to have 100% army of mages, you cant afford it. Invincible in defense but cant attack back, will constantly lose them from losing your GT's. They dont upgrade so late game they just get screwed if they dont have Carageous. Again which is hard to sustain just farming....
Its not an invincible strategy and gives elves an edge.
Sit back and Spell cast, and give off retals....

Xliest 7 Attack that cannot be upgraded that costs a fortune to upkeep....
EA's are 6 attack so I am trying to see your point of the argument.
Mages are needed for the Elven Special tech. If you take them away or make them hard to upkeep, you might as well change the Elven tech to allow wizards to cast those spells. That would be the only way its viable now.

As for your attack, is that the one that Thane explained how you got "cheeks clapped in the long range and mid range" 😉
You cant compare attacks right now anyways, everyone has inflated armies not having to upkeep anything with unlimited resources. Hell I am running THOUSANDS of war machines, which would be impossible to upkeep if I wasnt being fed by Keepers gifts.

Mack10 I’m only saying I don’t think invulnerable is the answer. Maybe give them a 80-90% chance not to die depending on factors but let’s not start the balance convo with this unit should be invincible
