I can't really see adding 1gp per peasant as a base when that's what maxed out markets are doing.
I've already bought 2 techs, fully built my 10 lands (including destroying some that aren't part of my build), have a good stockpile of all resources and now starting to explore new land - while still having 3 days of protection to go. Just based on my microscale, gp doesn't seem to be a big problem, there's plenty of overhead for troop production.
When I start troop production then I'll have a better idea of how poor things feel. But also, I'd have an extra 80k gp right now in a real round because my first tech would still be researching, making $ even more available.
This leads me to think a modest addition (0.1/peon) would be best, then we can gauge how finances feel later when there's more realistic data to look at.
