Alright fuggit, let's see how you a-holes break my new baby:

🏷️ How the Market Works

Welcome to the Thardferr Market, where players can buy and sell resources with each other. It’s a great way to make gold or stock up on what your kingdom needs.

📜 Basics of Trading
The market supports 3 resources:
🪵 Wood | ⛓️ Iron | 🍞 Food

Players can post Buy Orders or Sell Orders at their own price.
Other players can fill these orders for profit or supplies.

🧾 Posting an Order
Go to the “Post Offer” section.

Choose:

  • Buy if you want to spend gold to get resources.
  • Sell if you want to sell your resources for gold.
  • Enter the quantity and the price per unit.
  • Click Post Order.

💡 Tip: Once posted, your resources (or gold) are reserved and cannot be used until the order is filled or canceled.

⚔️ Filling an Order
You’ll see a list of other players’ active Buy and Sell orders.
To sell to someone, look under "Sell Your [Resource]".
To buy from someone, look under "Buy Some [Resource]".
Enter how much you want to trade, and click Buy or Sell to complete the deal instantly.

❌ Canceling Orders
If your order hasn’t been filled, you can cancel it anytime.
You’ll be refunded the remaining resources or gold from the unfilled portion.

📈 Market Tips
The best orders (highest buy price, lowest sell price) appear at the top.
You can only see a few orders at first - click "Show More" to see additional listings.
Use the "My Trades" tab to view or cancel your current orders.

Is there a place to see order history?

I already broke it, you need something to prevent spam

Total trade value when you pop in how many units you are buying. You’re welcome for paying you 100:1. At a glance I thought it was 20 for 100.

No place for order history, maybe I will add that in in the my orders section.

TheKeeper troll orders will just languish at the bottom of the list. It only displays the 5 best deals initially, then a player can click button to load the next 4 best deals. Ppl putting offers that are crazy will just have their order stuck at the bottom of the list

Might put a price cap per unit tho lol

We're unable to write non-integer values.

If I want to sell my food at 1.5:1, I shall sell it at 1.5:1 godfrikkindamit!

Leo possible yes, probable no. Right now it's pretty self contained, really easy to manage the code since it's not interacting with other parts of the game in major ways. I like it like that for now especially if we're gonna expand functionality to run magic for sale.

I'll just plop a spot in the My Orders section, below the Open Orders will load a list of Filled Orders and show the last 10 filled transactions.

Did you know 3 food for 2 gold is 1.5:1?

            It doesn't work like that.

Selling 3 food @ 2 gold means: Each food is 2 gold and you have total 3 food available.

I also second to have integer numbers but only 1 digit. Lets not look like a cryptocurrency market.

I posted 10k food for sale at 10gp each, Meiar came along and posted 25k food for sale at 9gp each. The free market works, suck it commies!

It's not letting me sell my body....for drugs. Science..
            .

Side note, can we have a box that shows what resources we have when posting? My memory doesn't work.

Jets yeah I was thinking of adding that, just plopped it in 🙂

It's fun to see how the price of things is moving so quickly as the market figures out how much its willing to pay for things. Watching food plummet in value to 3gp, seems like food isn't nearly as big an issue as iron is, with wood being 2nd most valuable.

Wow, Beast bought up all the cheap food and put it back on the market at 3-8X mark up, what an arse! I guess he's looking to make some $ lmao
