As a rough estimation 6:1 MP on gnome would fail at least 50% of the time, probably more than that. Consder yourself lucky .

As a rough estimation 6:1 MP on elf would fail around 20% of the time, probably less than that. That was a very unlucky roll for him. If it keeps happening report it as a potential bug.

MP acts as though you have all spell tech too, so that gives you a % success improvement.

I casted blessing as dwarf with 6.1:1, success. Twice in a row success.

If I failed my 3rd attempt 6:1, then I might start trying 7:1 to fine tune it for my cost to cast.

As a Gnome, I used another 6:1 MPs for a blessing on myself and it worked again. So if it is a probability of about 50%, then I just hit the 25% luck. I'll keep testing at 6:1 as a gnome and see

As an elf I used a little under 10:1 MP for a blessing and failed. My schools are only 1:1, so I don’t know if that matters.

This one is quite suspicious. Btw, you don't need schools for MP to work.
If i were you, when i have chance I would try again @ same rate and if it fails i would report it.

That is suspicious, I will take a look at it tomorrow. I'm dwarf with 0 schools and 0.wiz and I cast blessing on myself twice with 6:1 mp.

@Lord Thane I just noticed that in the Market in the My Trades tab, one of my MP purchases doesn't show up, but a purchase before and after do.

Nolio was it from your posted buy/sell orders, or were you buying/selling from other players orders?

Lord Thane It was a combination of both. The first was someone else's listed purchase for 2 food @ 3GP. The second was someone else's listed purchase for 1000 MPs @ 80GP (this one doesn't show up). The third was my listing of a buy I placed for 500 MP @ 60GP.

First and Third purchase show up in the history, Second does not.

Nolio are you sure you got the 1000 mp? Maybe someone else bought it right before you? I'm testing some different buy/sell combos to try replicate, but not getting anything to stick yet.

I'll see if I can find your fill order tomorrow, maybe it's in there with a bug or something. The way the system works is there's 2 buckets, one bucket holds orders and one holds order fills. When you buy something it gets a ticket tossed in the order fill bucket and that's what keeps track of your order history. So there should be a order fill ticket in there under your user id, if not then it's lost to the void. it's new enough that I can pull all the MP fill tickets and see if anything stands out though, maybe someone figured out an exploit or something 😭

I thought the race resistances only applied to offensive spells… it shouldn't prevent beneficial spells… I thought everyone was equal when elves cast on any race.

The poor casting ability is when dwarves/gnomes/orc cast. But can receive casts from others at baseline of the caster (elves/human). Dunno. Can someone confirm?

I’ve successfully cast blessing twice with MP using between 5 and 6 MP per land as undead.
