What is the protection status of Kingdom A:

if the retal is successfull? -> Kingdom A is under protection for 15h
if the retal is unsuccessfull? -> Kingdom A is under protection for 10h (I thought this would be zero. Because once the retal is used the protection due to CLI should wear off)

With no background info, as I haven’t been reading this thread to diligently. Considering we are reducing the chance that you win a castle on successful attacks below 100% do you thinks it’s fair that retals do get 100% to attack success on gaining a castle back? Because I don’t. If you attack some one your own size with appropriate troop count to win because you’ve put time into tracking their KS and TSing them etc. then you attack them and get 10 land, and they just send full R back at you due to emotional damage, lower defencive losses, and some medical centres or whatever and they win your castle, and can’t be attacked for 24 hours? I don’t really know how this system is supposed to justify that scenario.

You won’t get protection if you retail someone that hit you. Retail hits don’t get CLI only regular attacks.

Someone regular attacks you. You get 15 hours of protection they get 24 hours of protection and you have 24 hours of retaliation rights. You take your retail they get 15 hours of protection and you don’t get CLI.

You nailed it! And guess what happens to the defender? He lost his castle again before having time to get his retal. Or he successfully get his retal. The attacker has extended his time to rebuild while the defender got rekt again, lose his castle in seconds to someone who will gets CLI and the cycle goes on. that would be 2 vs 1

Lord Thane finding this idea very intriguing for sure, one side note, now you made Gate redundant any chance to make it available earlier in the magic tree? Or reduce the magic research time for magic overall? Gate not breaking protection? Just a thought

Well, nothing to argue here anymore. CLI B is up. However, I just want to say this. I rather have CLI B if we cannot Bfeed and can only attack 80-90% of your KS. This so called penalty when Bfeeding, it's useless. We can just rebuild/retrain the loses. With CLI protection, that's enough to rebuild.

Please keeper give also protection rights to the kingdom when taking there retals.. its not fair to be out of prot after taking retal. Coz you will be easy hit for another kingdoms.

Let's see how it plays out, as this might be @Lord Thane intentions in making the game more of an attacking game rather than farming, and might even making it in way that it might not matter how many allies you have, but your gameplay to be more important. (Might turn out to be the best change for the game)(appreciate many won't agree but definitely worth to see it in practice)

Without cli your castle would have already been passed, and you'd only be able to retal the guy for land. Zero recourse for you.

Lord Thane castle passing isn’t that big of an issue.

Last round if I made an attack I sent basically %100, didn’t build anything no troops or buildings and hung out till I got hit. I knew I’d get 15 ticks of pro regardless. The retal was more valuable than passing.

How does he stand a chance of getting his castle back? He’s gonna lose his other one before the first attacker ever leaves pro.

Let's take a look at this "odds stacked in your favor to get it".

Hypothetical scenario.
Two kingdoms, with 100 land and 4 castles that are the exact same KS, but one of them is wiz fat and has a weaker military. Kingdom A more military strong attacks Kingdom B and wins. Kingdom A now has 24 hours of protection from anyone other than Kingdom B. They are 125 land 5 castles. Kingdom B is now 75 land 3 castles and has 15 hours of protection. So hour 16, they say screw it, and send whatever they can against this kingdom that has 66% more land (and production). They win! They get their castle back! Oh no, retals don't give CLI. Kingdom A has 15 hours of protection. Now, Kingdom A has two quick options. Tell someone, hey Kingdom B just hit me for a retal there's an easy castle for someone to get. Other option, wait 8 hours and hit Kingdom B back as soon as their army gets home. I think the more likely scenario is that Kingdom A has rebuilt a strong enough army that kingbom B will bounce without a pre, and their army will be crippled again.

While without CLI, Yes they castle pass. But still a higher chance to get it back with pre-re or with a help of friends.

KingLear assuming you bottom fed to have that kind of power disparity (or they planned poorly and didn't build enough army), they'd probably want to either retal immediately while you're at your weakest, or wait until they can grow big enough and have military production enough to compete against you.

Like I have said all along, I'm open to the idea of increasing the harshness of the KS penalty if enough people support it. I think it should be increased in hardhness.

Obviously you just wait and grow big enough to compete in 15 hours. Its simple really, you just have to use the secret strat of delusion.

Rennoc the defense protection was never changed, CLI only affects attackers.

I think defense times deserve to be increased though, we should poll about it.
