I'm open to reduce the food consuption, But since it is a tweak that modifies the core of the game, I need it to be approved by the majority of players.

TheKeeper I like the idea, it just needs to be balanced.
If others are doing well on Food, maybe its just Gnomes? I know I am running 1:1 Farms@ Max production and .76:1 GH's,
I Will be losing food when they fill in a couple of ticks.
Only have 3 Balistas too, so its not like its an ATC food hog.

TheKeeper I found the issue while doing some math last night, double optimal used to give 1.5x the resources and now it only gives 1.3x that’s where the food issue is.

@TheKeeper no, if it was always like this, I'm fine. Maybe it'll feel more natural later on in the game when we have techs and properly built lands.

saadht it’s not consumption it’s a production issue, double optimal used to give 1.5x now it’s only gives 1.3x. This means we are leaving 30 farms 600 food short from what we are used to.

Xliest just makes it so militaries early on wont be as big....as long as its even across the board gameplay should be relatively similar...

Darteye certainly all else being equal the players will adapt no problem. I’m just stating why it is happening

I would still request taking it back to 1.5x, as we have enough trouble remembering old strategies already. This would also affect wood, iron, armory, etc. If possible, we should revert imho.

Even at 1.5x, a gnome needs to run over 1:1 farms to support 1:1 gh. hopefully irrigation will help it some

I addressed it, I'll check the food balance, I also feel that my residents love to eat too much. (PS: SHould I give a food production bonus to gnomes? maybe 5%?

As an orc, I am noticing, now that the army is rolling in. I am barely keeping pace with food. I am awaiting to voice my concerns once the army is built and ag is 120. But it does seems more challenging at this point.

TheKeeper and no, stupid gnomes should have to compensate for their large armies...

@TheKeeper Rather than getting +5% from the beginning, I suggest giving gnomes a 5% extra boost from irrigation as gnomes are pretty strong at the beginning anyway.

Agreed. Gnomes need late game buffs, not early game.

This food issue isnt exclusive to Gnomes imo.

Gnomes have variable army sizes And large swings. when they are sitting at home they are expected to eat way more food because like 1800 of them are eating 1 food per day rather than 1/6 per person but approx 1200 of those die every battle so their food consumption swings wildly

I would say wait for things to shake out if you want to set food production at double optimal to 1.5x it would def help. Even if wood and iron stay at 1.3x for now. We can tune it in as the game progresses

Just another small bug: so the double optimal works at 1.5x now as you said @TheKeeper but if you’re on a sliding scale it still acts as if 1.3x is max. As in 170 on lumber works as expected, 150 doesn’t.

Please check and confirm if it works as intended, post optimum, on a sliding scale to 1.5x max at double optimum.

Jets Orcs always had a strong TC army early then it falls off (ish)

Gnomes were always REALLY strong out the gate, in the mid they bought up all the ressys. Then late game you had to kill their strong initial army then kill their armory, then they could never recover.

Also, what I am just now coming to realize. I don't believe that it is sustainable when crime rate is at 25% (25 castle) I couldn't imagine maintaining standard ratios of buildings that that level of crime rate. I always thought I was food fat until around 20's for castles then I would be starving.
