We used to hide our armies all the time. The worst thing was when you got caught with your army home. Then after gate enters the picture all the races with realistic access to gate get a huge advantage.

Lord Thane yeeep, I have had to use the market to supplement my wood supply all round. I think I got up to almost 2:1 mills at one point, it's crazy... I really like this idea about giving gnomes a break at the market though

So easily abused though. Just send your gold to gnome friend. They buy and send it to you. Does the selling kingdom still receive the full price they listed for? Or is the market buff only from the default vendor?

trupheus You make an excellent point about the abuse side, but I can see a work around on the other point for the vendor side of transactions. If as a gnome you buy wood from a vendor, the gnome pays the 85% and gets what is listed, but the vendor gets 100% of the gold posted through Thardferr supplementing the other 15%.

Nolio just gives gnomes +1 wood? the market should only be there to supplement rez you need at that time. or buying/selling to make a profit.

I would disagree with the wood bonus especially now there is a market. Maybe give gnomes -15% cost on market buys from the 'house' (100GP per wood to 85 each?)

AdinTheDark Gnomes getting a bonus to market purchases to me sounds right on point with the fantasy theme the racial bonuses should be. They are masterminds of Great War machines intelligent and cunning very capable negotiators in the markets

The market should be there to deplete the gold of Gnomes but supplement their resource need in a small community.
I think if we get back to hundreds of players the Market can be eliminated but until then, there is not enough resources on sale to keep Gnomes as a top contender.

+1 wood would help if there was no market but really is it enough for that many sticks? You need to buy all that from the community.

Nolio you should have to choose you play style and economy based on play style. No one should be able to run 1.5gh per land and train an entire army in 2 days.

Strider Not sure I understand what you're getting at here, but I agree that people shouldn't be able to run a 1.5 ghs and train it entirely in 2 days. As I said reasonable numbers for the amount you can train, just the speed at which you train them is quicker. Upkeep and the deficits that come along with it are still there. Just because it can be done faster, doesn't mean you can afford to do more of it. The point is simply to reduce rebuild time, not make it so people can have larger armies. Same size, but faster. Makes for more attacking.

Strider Sure you can as Gnome.
Remember they are only as good as their stockpile of weapons.
Lots of houses with Habitation Gives you insane amounts of gold. As long as you can trade you can sustain 1.5 easily. Sometimes I push 2:1 Depending on if I am in farm mode or combat mode.

Mack10 I agree, it would help. And I wouldn't want it to be OP so that there was NO need for trading or the market, just for it to be a bit better.

And again I agree that gnome can run that 1:1 up to 2:1, if you have a massive stockpile. But as you know it runs out so fast. Much faster in proportion to the other races. And considering it's just fodder, whereas the other races (except Orc) don't have that fodder, just a slight boost to help keep up would be nice.

I don't want any race to be OP. Just for them to be relatively on the same level. Small changes that bring it closer is what I'm looking for.

my brother in gnome. i know that gnome is only broken when their stockpile is gone.
