Not sure who T4 is other than a bunch of Smurfs. There was one organized group who passed castles to one kingdom after IP with the intention of passing again. They’ve all been ban hammered before completing a second cycle of passes. BF is the way to go. Get on top stay on top just find someone smaller than you. CLI will protect you. Even if a group of smaller kingdoms bands together to take down a big kingdom, the bigger will just collect castles when they retaliate.

There was a poll for CLI in game for idk maybe 8 hours but unsure what the response rate and results for it were. Told that CLI somehow won, which is a bit confusing to me as I’ve only seen about 4 people be supportive.

If I missed something I do apologize. Not my intent. Only thing I can think of is if you were particularly less than civil in a response.

I like this idea of CLI only coming from attacks against worthy opponents. That’s a great benefit to promoting more attacks against people your size.

Spicy! Caught up on CLI. Why is this available to bottom feeders is the question? I can see why it might be good if initial attack is against someone bigger to keep things balanced, but not if someone bottom feeds you. You have to have an ally to fight someone 2X your size.

You thinking of a cap on KS to receive benefit? Like hitting anyone in 75-80% of your KS range or higher and you get it? I think that would be a good idea.

Strider I've mentioned it before, I believe that if CLI is a permanent fixture then to improve it should only work if the defending kingdoms are larger than the attacking. Not 70% or 80%, only larger.

@Lord Thane I really think that while you were compromising by making it a tech, that you were right and should make it fully available to all for testing and creating useful data. It's just too big of a detriment to any player who doesn't get it. Since as you said that the poll indicates that people want it, Is it possible to change it so that we just all have it fully functioning?

skigglez just made a post to discuss this exact scenario. Cli seems incomplete and not an overall improvement as I currently understand it

I've definitely been considering making CLI only work for KS >70%. If a KD is going to bottom feed 50-70% their KS, it should carry extra risk.

Lord Thane this seems necessary. And the % shoukd scale as the round progresses. 10% difference in KS early round is much different than late round when things start to scale.

Nolio I think the answer is same size within a 5-10% range. As long as attack deaths are balanced to allow a kingdom to retal within that range.

Only available to attacking bigger KD likely needs some sort of cap as well. Thinking of old times with 20 kingdoms suiciding a singke large kingdom. Borg round seems a good example.

Nolio this will also be unfair to the kingdoms who upgraded it. The time they spent to upgrade the tech and then suddenly implemented to everyone again. Why not try to play along with it.upgrade it to the max level and see the difference. Either you are at the bottom or at the top. It doesnt matter. As for me i find it now interesting. And yes at first it is really not fair, but you know all of us starting from level 0 of the tech right? So no ones to blame here. It is your choice of what tech you upgraded first.

Nolio it's unlikely to be changed any further at this point, and we wouldn't necessarily want to disenfranchise the players that already spent the gold on it. In 1-2 months when we have more data and players have more experience with it, then we could make those kind of decisions for the next round.

We're focusing available dev time on features that will help grow the player base for now. If there's major support for minor changes like putting a cap on CLI <70% then we may possibly implement that this round.

Nolio just because the majority wants it, doesn’t mean it should be given to all. It’s provided as a tech now. If someone wants it, research it. The rest of my prov is completely against it. Just because I choose to use it, doesn’t mean that they should be forced to.

Strider I totally get it, that's how the Borg knocked me out of 1st in that round.

But I think that is a different issue.

That's an issue of: if you are a defending kingdom and get hit and lose a certain percentage of your army, you should just get protection. That has nothing to do with CLI

KingLear I get what you're saying, and I agree with most of that. But if you're talking about unfair, then when some of the players I know were in the middle of techs that are over 100 hours long, those who didn't have those techs got CLI first. You could cancel those techs and lose money and time, or keep then and be at a deficit because the tech was introduced AFTER those were started. If the tech was there from the beginning, I would completely agree with you. Also I have the tech, so I'm trying to speak from all perspectives.

KingLear I think that eating a few hours of tech time for an extremely cheap tech that doesn't take much time for the benefit of the game as a whole is a small ask.

Maybe this should be classified as a full length beta round so no one feels bad about working toward a singke goal of getting the game where both new and old players enjoy it to the fullest

Lord Thane Strategically, I might suggest spending time on the MVP sooner than later so that new players come into an environment that doesn't create churn. Ypu likely have a better idea on that than me, amd are probably already doing that, just a suggestion from my experience with user based web applications.

Cora I agree with you mostly, I'm also someone who does not want it in the game at all. But since it's here I have to use it or I'll be at a huge disadvantage.

The same is to be said about the players in your prov. If they don't get the tech, they will see very quickly that they get pre/retals against them, but can't do the same back.

All I want is for it to be on fair playing grounds for all. I like balance

Cora there are certainly aspects of life that I disagree with the adage "dont knock it til you try it". I dont know as the severity of this change qualifies though. If this was dubbed a test round would that improve the outlook of players in your opinion?

Now apply that same logic to someone on the outside of a large alliance in previous rounds. The experience is essentially the same - you get pre-re on every attack and the other side is always in protection through a vast network of castle passing. They should play the entire round without the CLI techs and maybe they will gain a better understanding of the opposing viewpoint!
