King Haybol wowowow, that's a lot of damage! I built 0.3 schools and 5:1 wizards to keep on hand just for magic defense. Can't be too safe on that!

Instead of checking on it and make some changes before Off spells are taking over the game. Magic defense is not the solution for this.

No you weren’t. You were 73k earlier in the day and got army wiped. You were middle of the pack in top 30 when you got EQ’d. I don’t see the point in lying about something like that, everyone knows you weren’t 73k

Not guaranteed, but it does make it more difficult, AND having schools/wizards lowers the negative effect of spells.

Successful offensive spells give retals, as they should, but currently failed ones don't. Maybe as a balancing thing, failed fireballs/eq's ect. should give retals as well.

Would make getting some magic defence for military KD's a bit more worth it, as if they block a spell they get a free hit through pro.

It would be nice to see someone try to defend. Like could you reflect the spell back and they EQ themself?

I am very curious to know what these elves are running school per land and how many wiz are used. If these are speciality kingdoms built with a purpose, ok I get it. But if there is a 1:1 GH that can be retrained in a day, that’s a problem.

trupheus it was 1.5:1 schools and around 5k wiz for the 600 one. It does feel very strong, just starting to get the good spells techs too. I do invest in spell stuff but 1.5:1 is pretty easy to maintain. I wonder what you pure casters with 3:1 could do

Lord Thane When it happened to Haybol, I believe this was after you fixed magic as one of the kingdoms that did the spell was bigger than him, the other was smaller. Also in the aftermath, Haybol was still able to attack both kingdoms and get a castle from each, therefore ending up 2 castles ahead and 1000 buildings lost.

I agree with Doug that spells might have too much power, same as he pointed out then.
