trupheus I don't know where some of you people get this myth that old Thardferr was stable or didn't constantly change every round. I think I personally found+abused+reported at least 15 major bugs in my first round.

The only real difference is we publicly talk about bugs, whereas old Thardferr swept them under the rug.

You literally told me that I needed to change my play style. And you’ve contributed nothing to this thread.

My first thought, get rid of not being able to attack inside your province. This would let you all easily play inside your province. We’d have to consider that you don’t get racial bonuses, which is silly. Clearly you’ve prove that groups will just split up and play together. So… maybe eliminate the idea of provinces and let people name/form their own alliances.

I already said I don’t like my second idea. But if I’m going to oppose an idea I’m going to propose multiple ideas as other possibilities.

That came about for a couple of reasons. First and foremost anything that changes the foundation of the game requires a deeper level of conversation across different perspectives than what was given to CLI. People on both sides were unwilling to listen to the other. People in positions of power were calling people “retarded”. That last line leads to you knew it was originally my idea. Yet, instead of approaching from a place of seeking to understand my change in perspective you attacked me.

Recently I have proposed the idea that to decrease the costly effects of attacking and defending to increase output while also increasing upkeep to keep army sizes close to the same. I’ve also brought up increasing the initial starting kingdom to 10 castles 100 land to lessen the effects of the costly attacks when building up to 10 castles.

Now I’m off to figure out a plan for a power outage with no end in sight.

trupheus people that were called retarded in that thread earned it when they stopped using reasoned logic and resorted to trolling "this is bad because of mysterious reasons" over and over, or intentionally spreading misinformation to scare people into voting a certain way. In retrospect, I should have just started giving 3-day bans for people that couldn't contribute something of substance to that conversation - then it could have continued on to be much more civilized and productive. Oh well, live and learn.

I've seen the conversions around the starting resources/castles woes, haven't seen anything that really piqued my interested yet. The thing with starting everyone off with 10 castles is it will really piss off a lot of traditionalist that enjoy starting from scratch. I don't think that's the right solution to the issue, but I like where the brainstorming is headed, and I like aspects of the current "castle chance" thing - though we will likely turn that down to only affecting the first 5 castles.

Good luck with the power outage, one of my friends in S.C. has been out for over 24h now and she's going crazy :/

Further to Thane's point - he put everything up to vote out of courtesy. He's the dev and can implement whatever the hell he wants. He viewed CLI as a way to improve the game and received a ton of backlash and numerous trolling/non-sensical posts for like a week straight, and STILL put it up for the population to vote. There were 2 votes that both favored CLI, and yet still people are bitching about it. If that's not toxic behavior, I don't know what is.
