Xliest I had the phased caps idea running a couple days ago, if you scroll up in this thread you can see the progression of battle casualties from testing. I hit Trupheous like 20 times fine tuning it lol. We removed it though, in favor of sticking to the old Thardferr style casualties (I guess? I can't remember getting zeroed out so easily before).

      Darteye yes getting zeroed when you had army out was a thing I don’t know the mechanics behind it though. But the randomness usually allowed for some small percentacge of survivors maybe it was based on KS or something where the larger you were vs how much army you had defending you would lose more… I dunno

      Darteye It was a 50% fudge factor. All range damage was actually halved, and with the Range Tech then it'd be as per the unit guide at 100%.

      It does look like the losses displayed is halved. Which begs the question which is correct? Were real losses double or should we have more troops returning home?

        I added a fix for this buildings issue, capped buildings gains at 10 per land max, also added entropy for building destruction 🙂

        Before I got 101 buildings from 10 lands, after the change I got 65 buildings from 10 lands. With entropy factor I could have gotten 60-80 buildings.

        Also just noticed it says "sorrounded", was that typo always there? Lol

          Does it leave the defender with more buildings ie -max build? Or are they completely destroyed?
          There used to be some collateral where the defender would lose some amount more buildings between 1 and five acres worth as the KS and total land increased. So someone on 20 land would lose 5 land and have 10 buildings destroyed on their 15 remaining and some one with 200 land would have between 20 and 40 buildings destroyed it helped with fixing ratios back to what the defender wanted also! Not just a pure negative affect.

          I could add the concept of "Evasion/Accuracy" to Thardferr, it would give new depths to the game and each unit could have a different parameter.

            Is protection different? I remember castle hits would give 18 hours before? I think I got 15.

            Again, completely 0'd out what I had at home (probably fitting, but does not feel good)

            And then the really fun part, I am -39 buildings available.

              @Lord Thane is aware of this, I'm pretty sure I mentioned it earlier to ensure that this did not happen... as i anticipated it would.

              trupheus did you get more buildings than listed in your report? The report pasted looks good for #'s.

              I just ran a test attack and got 1 land, came with 5 buildings built. Checked my Buildings section and it checked out good - 5 new buildings installed and 5 open slots for new buildings.

              Was your building overage already there? I didn't make any fix for previous overages, the fix was just for new attacks.

              Edit: oops, I see now that was a defense. Yeah looks like a bug, you only lost the buildings from the report and didn't lose the buildings that should have been burned from the attack lol. I'll look into that tomorrow 🙏

              Alright got a fix in place for the building spoils. Also thought of another scenario that needed fixing at the same time = old formula was assuming defender always had 10 buildings built per land and based spoils on that, new formula will check how many buildings are actually built on the defender's lands before running the spoils/destruction calcs.

              In my test attack the defender had 20 lands and 100 buildings built (50% built lands). The attack resulted in gaining 1 land and on that were 3 buildings that survived. The defender lost 5 buildings total (since they had an average of 5 built per land), 3 of them went to the attacker and 2 to destroyed.

              This is much better logic and better realism on both sides 🙂

                Lord Thane the logic seems fine. You added entropy to buildings destroyed/gained as well? Or will it be exact if I have 100 land and 800 buildings someone attacks me and wins 10 land do I lose 80 buildings and they gain 50? Or could I lose say 74 and they gain 55…

                  Xliest nah it's just going to take an equal cut of whatever buildings you have built, if you lose 10% of land then you'll lose 10% of buildings. The entropy comes with number of buildings that survive the battle, so the attacker might gain 50 buildings or maybe 69 buildings, etc. I think this is good enough, don't need to go overboard with randomness, idk maybe if enough people want more randomness then we can add it 🤔

                  We are still out here getting full zeroed, not to mention i have -11 max build again. i had 30 buildings on the go when i was hit. but it still shouldn't get you to - if the code we talked about was doing the right thing.

                  The casualty caps I was testing were removed in favor of the old style, so getting fully zeroed is expected possible behavior. But I thought there's supposed to be a 'defend with 70%' rule, we can probably look into that.
