Konkistador comparing gnome infantry against undead skeleton doesn't compute:
Skeletons train at 30X faster speed.
Skeletons cost less than 1/3 the price of upkeep.
Skeletons cost less than 1/3 the price to build.
A better comparison would be Gnome Militia. But as you know doing that doesn't help your case, because the Gnome Miltia also costs more to build and more to upkeep and is VASTLY more vulnerable to getting killed since they have no magic strategy to protect against long range attack damages.
The change to debuff the racial strategy is reasonable and logical to prevent balance issues, as I had mentioned was a major concern. Unless and/or until there's proof otherwise we should leave things as is.
Undead have highly equipped units (5 of 6 armored, just like Dwarf), and have high attack units in general (on par with humans). There's not really any excuse to say they're not receiving big buffs from techs, they're at least on par with humans/dwarfs at the top of the totem pole. They're definitely not as disparaged as orcs/elf/gnome. The only major difference is the racial strategy, which we do want to keep powerful as a strategic tool against foes that overly invest in ranged units, but also don't want to make OP.
What I think Undead players need to learn about them is that their special units aren't going to be unstoppable when used in any/all battle situations. It's like the Dwarf in the other thread that got obliterated by the Orc (now people can see what happens when thinking 50% SB is a good idea, it's not lol). The Undead special units should be used as part of a balanced build, with the racial strat used at appropriate times - not all the time.
