I’m trying to speed up aspects of the game because we’re in a different era of online gaming than we were 25 years ago. I believe that the development evolutionary path of Thardferr leads to games like Clash of Clans. I would love to see a player base in the thousands again. My goodness the fun it would be to play where I don’t recognize 90% of the players because they’re the same old frenemies from ages ago.
Tick rate remains the same. Which I see as being very significant. We’re still progressing by the hour, it’s just that potential output in those hours is greater. After 2 decades surely the leaders of great kingdoms have created efficiencies to at least double output.
The increased productivity translates to quicker rebuilds. More attacking. More blood for armies to bath in and the sweet tears of the fallen to drink. This will make solid strategy all the more important. Remember having to manage your retals so you didn’t give out too many and leave yourself overexposed?
Shorter techs means faster progression through the tech tree. This helps to get kingdoms to their full potential quicker and with increased output technology advances need to also speed up.
Protection is put in place to what it was in the old days where you had to think. Darn the luck when you oversent or undersent on a retal!
And I fully accept that I am certainly varying degrees of right and wrong on every one of these ideas. My truth is mine and is not the only truth. The diversity in thought is what makes this interesting.
