Yah both those sound like good ideas, just anything to get over the hump. Me and my group are actually going backwards just getting ass fucked by 6 different provs

    We did talk about making hits below a ks % would get a % chance to win a castle, something like hits under 80% ks would be 50/50 chance.

    I think that addition, plus disable CLI for hits under 70% would deter a lot of BF activity.

    I know how it feels, I lost 2 castles to BF. If CLI hadn't been turned to tech I could have retaled one of them and been safe (he suicided), but if we had the BF Castle Chance and BF CLI Disable rules in place then maybe they would have thought twice about down hitting so hard.

    trupheus with this you would come oop with 4. so you come oop with 30 land your only a 7-8 land hit. and your economy would be even better because your not wasting 750 wood and 1250 iron on building one.

      Those 6 provinces probably aren’t even connected. They might be but to my knowledge those dirty Smurfs are keeping to themself. It’s just that the smaller kingdoms are the feeding ground of the bigger kingdoms. Bigger kingdoms don’t want to attack each other because it’s so costly. Even if they couldn’t take castles below 80% that might just cause more farming. Unless CLI only kicks in above 80%. Hmmmm gotta figure this one out more.

        DougEfresh maybe we should do a special deal of auto starting the first 4 castles during initial protection. Then everyone comes out loaded and they can continue building more, or turtle up - whatever they want from there.

          Lord Thane that works as well. i know its a small sample size since rounds havent been long enough but there isnt enough castles in the game. anything that increases that will increase fighting. and having people less of a land target will promote more risky hits, when your losing 10 land instead of 30.

            DougEfresh I like it, it will ease the transition period out of protection a lot, I think we'll have to do it. We can build it in as part of a new kingdom setup so it happens for everyone as they join the game.

            It's weird I don't remember having this problem during the test rounds, I guess everyone wasn't as worried about getting hit. I wonder if that's due to it being "just test rounds", or if cli prospects have made people more wary.

            ive felt like its been an issue, but as i said before, having a round last only a couple of weeks might have magnified it to me. but everyone always so scared of getting split, that they wait til someone else goes to 2 before doing it themself, and it grinds everything to a stand still

              DougEfresh I'm gonna put a note for this to build out. If Keeper is in agreement then I'll put it into place in a couple weeks - then all new kingdoms going forward will get it.

              FriendsInSpace The same thing also happened to me at the same time as you.

              R8 bottom fed on my province mate, so I hit up. I was 12.5k and hit Dnookie 20.8k. I won a castle and got 8 hours of protection from CLI. This did help me to build a bit of an army. Considering I'm a gnome, building an army in 8 hours is impossible, but it did help a little.

              9 hours later, R8 had their ally T18 pre for them. Zephirion was 23k hitting into me at 16k, that's 69% (nice) of his size. Then R8 Dnookie takes his retal against me, he's still bigger than me at this point sitting at 20k. I drop down to 1 castle, 21 land and am 7k. I have no retal against dnookie, but I do have one against Zephirion who is 23k, but he has protection.

              I have no recourse and simply have to start from the bottom again, which I'm doing. This is because I couldn't start CLI when it came out because it was introduced while I was in the middle of irrigation. Which by the way, I would have done CLI long before that because of how powerful it is and how much worse you are as a kingdom without it.

              So yes it's frustrating, and I get the struggles. And while I am open about why I think CLI doesn't work as intended and should be either removed or changed, those are simply my thoughts and criticisms that I try to show with concrete examples, logic and reason; not complaints for the sake of it. Since it's in the game I'm using it and testing it. I would love to be wrong and say wow this works really well, but I'm just not seeing it. At least not yet

                Nolio yes, I too got screwed by cli being made to techs. If it had remained unchanged, the situation for us both would have been a lot fairer with full cli protection in place.

                Although in your case dnookie would probably have been in protection from his BF, so you wouldn't have been able to hit him and get drawn into a pre-re. So who knows how that would have played out.

                Disabling CLI for <70% ks hits, and making castle gains for hits <80% ks chancified. Gonna talk these over with Keeper and see if we can fast track them to production.

                  69%, Nice. I'm also in the exact same boat re: irrigation.

                  I do think CLI needs some refining, but i like the idea in general. With more time in the round using it we could definitely work out the kinks.

                  Lord Thane I agree that had it been not in the tech but kept as it was, the situation would have been different. And to clarify, Dnookie wasn't the one that BF my prov mate, that was a different guy from their province. I hit Dnookie because we were being targeted by them and he was the only one out of protection

                  I just want to be clear that Dnookie did nothing wrong in this particular situation, I hit him and he was deserved of a retal.

                  Getting locked in on a 1v1 where you go back and forth was something enjoyable to me. I don't know if it's a popular opinion or not, but I found it made for a lot more fighting

                    near the end of last round i looked through my old news and realized like 60% of my hits and defends the whole round were between me and lord eagle

                    I wanted retals give retals as well, but we couldn't reach consensus. Keeper was against it and in the CLI poll where we had like 50 people voting, the retals-give-retals only got a paltry 6 votes, not near enough for me to make a case for changing it, unfortunately.

                    We can come back to the retals issue later and try again. I don't want to push it so early since "the people have spoken", but perhaps for next round. Or maybe even mid-round if we find CLI slows war down too much once everyone gets the tech and kingdoms grown in fuller, and if there's enough support from players.
