Lord Thane players don't like BEING pre-retaled, we LIKE pre-retaling for our friends.
CLI
LadyKaeleer exactly
LadyKaeleer yes it is fun, unfortunately it seems the few alliances ruined that fun for the majority of un-allied players who wished for the tactic to end.
so we change a base mechanic cuz some people cant make friends?
Yah force people to join large groups or get fucked lol brilliant
Thecatman you mean, like, provinces?
Lord Thane so they need to make friends, not break the long standing game play.
if we had the player base we had back in the 90s and early 00s, this might work, but I was hit and wiped almost completely off the map 49 seconds out of initial protection, while at work and unable to do anything, so there went half my land, a castle, and all but 24 troops. Then the hour rolled and half my remaining peasants died.
By the time I have access to do anything with my kingdom, I'm down to less than 10 hours pro.
We're not kids anymore. Most of us HAVE kids now. And jobs. Lives outside the world wide web.
15 hours pro for defense is just a slap in the face, specially when the attacker ALSO gets pro. Attackers never got protection because they are SUPPOSED to keep enough army home for defense. Now they get to throw everything at their target and don't have to worry about anyone but the kingdom they just wiped the floor with.
What do provinces have to do with anything?
Wait are you saying that just joining a prov with someone makes you part of their group? Lol provs don't mean anything

LadyKaeleer one of the big bonuses with CLI is your castle won't be passed (because that's what happens, meaning the person that attacked you is still in protection whether we had CLI or not), so you can still get it back, and the attacker won't "throw everything" because they know you have a retal coming.
And we're most likely going to give retals CLI, so you'll be well protected to take your castle back - especially considering the guy that you retalled won't have a retal to get you back.
This makes the game MUCH more casual.
Also, I think Keeper is going to add longer protection times on defense as part of a tech tree, so that's a possibility coming too.
Thecatman how long have you been playing? Provinces are the original alliances, your neighbors, your FRIENDS.
Thecatman maybe not to you, random person ive never heard of. but when i first joined the game, thats how i met people. and became friends with, worked with.
Lord Thane yes it is fun, unfortunately it seems the few alliances ruined that fun for the majority of un-allied players who wished for the tactic to end.
the game is built around grouping up with your province.
i dont agree with massive alliances. but if i wanted to 1v1 people id just play a pve game
DougEfresh it's not about making a 1v1, it's about preventing 2v1 being the only way to win. Having 1v1s is just a fun side effect, but it would be a lot funner I think if we had retals give retals - I would love to get in a slugfest like that.
Anyways, I'm gonna implement retals give CLI now - so it will at least give defenders more confidence to fight for their castle.
CGI (castle gain immunity) was certainly involved. He hit and gained castles and now has 24 hours of pro.
Me and my friends have been playing since the early 2000's. We played thardferr then CTA and tried strife but didn't like it. We are a small group of 4-6 depending on who is playing that round. That's why we know from first hand experience how bad the old system is.

Rennoc and? If we didn't have CLI it would be no different, he would have just passed a castle back to his friends to get protection. CLI made no difference, other than a few hours of inconsequential protection.
A few hours of extra protection for 6 guys playing feeder kingdoms doesn't negate the positive benefit the majority of players get from actually playing the game with CLI.
Lol you guys in your incestuous little circle jerk are so toxic for this game. Its kind of sad really
saying CLI promotes BFing even more with less chance of repercussion, which it obviously does, is toxic?
cool cool cool
Someone doesn't understand incest.
